To find out which one you should get, you need to read the following blog.

Now, let’s compare iPhone 14 Pro Max vs Samsung S22 Ultra.

iPhone 14 Pro Max Vs Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra: Body and Display

Well, there isn’t too much difference when we talk about the body size of iPhone 14 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. The latter is thicker though and surprisingly the former is a bit heavier. If we talk about the design, S22 Ultra has a boxy shape as its edges don’t bend vertically. 14 Pro Max on the other hand comes with round edges. Their camera modules are very different. S22 Ultra’s camera module is inside the body (just the cameras are out) whereas the 14 Pro Max’s whole camera module is outside its body.

Coming to the front side, you get a pill shape punchhole camera cutout on iPhone whereas circular punchhole camera cutout is available on Samsung. iPhone is the winner here as it has used Destiny Island software (shape changing) for this camera cutout that brings a lot of cool features.

If we talk about the display, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is better on paper as its screen is brighter and that will be helpful in daylight conditions. For watching videos, and consuming other content, displays of both devices are exceptional. And guess what? The iPhone now comes with an always on display.

Samsung S22 Ultra vs iPhone 14 Pro Max: Camera Comparison

Well, many of us declare the iPhone camera the winner without even comparison. But now, let’s look at the reality of iPhone camera vs Samsung’s top end smartphone camera.

Galaxy S22 Ultra comes with a 108 MP primary camera. On the other hand, the iPhone 14 Pro Max comes with a 48 MP primary camera (first time in an iPhone). But does it mean Samsung’s phone will produce better results? Well! That’s hard to say as the actual results are not dependent on the pixel count. Also, software plays a vital role in producing exceptional quality images. So, let’s give the primary camera the benefit of doubt.

However, Samsung S22 Ultra wins in this department due to another camera. Yes! We are talking about its periscopic telephoto camera with 10x optical zoom. It is the feature missing in the iPhone. Also, Galaxy S22 Ultra can record videos up to 8K whereas iPhone can record by upto 4K. S22 Ultra has a super slow motion mode that can record 720p videos at 960fps.

The Selfie Camera of iPhone 14 Pro Max is 12 MP and S22 Ultra comes with a 40 MP front camera. On the paper, Samsung looks like a clear winner but we will have to wait till our hand on review to know the reality.

The Best Performer?

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and iPhone 14 Pro Max, both are supreme in terms of performance. The latter uses Apple’s top A16 Bionic mobile chip whereas the former comes with the top snapdragon or Samsung’s Exynos chip. But Apple’s chip is reportedly better as compared to the Exynos or Snapdragon’s chips.

Although Samsung S22 Ultra comes with more RAM, the storage type of iPhone 14 Pro Max is NVMe that gives extra boost to its performance. Also, many people like the RAM management of Apple as compared to Samsung. But that doesn’t mean Samsung is out of the league. There is so little difference in the performance of both devices that many people will hardly notice. So, both devices are exceptional for high-end gaming.

Who’s Got More Features

Featurewise, S22 Ultra is behind the iPhone 14 Pro Max. It is because Apple has introduced a Satellite Connectivity feature that allows a person to send an SOS message to emergency services if the cellular signals are not working. Cool right? Also, its GPS has QZSS which is absent in S22 Ultra. The new iPhone also comes with the newer version of Bluetooth 5.3 but Samsung has got the older version (5.2).

But, there is one area where Samsung is the clear winner. Samsung DeX, that allow swift mobile connection with the desktop (computer or laptop). If you want to play mobile games or run your mobile apps on PC quickly without any interruption, Samsung S22 Ultra is the right choice. Also, how can we forget about the famous S Pen? It isn’t available on the iPhone right?

Final Verdict

There is never a winner in the iPhone vs Samsung battle. It is because people who love the Apple ecosystem don’t turn to Samsung phones even if they offer more features. Same is the case with the Samsung lovers who will find it difficult to use the iPhone if they don’t have other Apple Products.

iPhone 14 Pro Max is no doubt a great smartphone in terms of performance, design, and camera (primary one). It also got some new features like Satellite Connectivity and Dynamic Island (shape shifting) punchhole camera cutout that are pretty appealing for the iphone lovers.

On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has an additional camera (periscopic with 10x zoom). It also got an S-pen, better multi window experience, customizability, and connectivity with the desktops and other devices (except Apple products).
