When in 2020 a test mule of the 12th generation Toyota Corolla was spotted near Islamabad the market was abuzz with the expected launch of the latest gen Corolla in Pakistan. After all, the 11th gen was ruling the roost in the country since 2014 and it was the only time that Toyota introduced the latest generation sedan in Pakistan. However, it was not to be.
One of the biggest reasons why Toyota Corolla’s latest generation has not been introduced in Pakistan is the super impressive sales numbers of the 11th gen Corolla. However, things are not so rosy anymore. Car sales in general are on the decline and Toyota Corolla’s sales numbers are no different.

If these dismal sales numbers won’t compel the company to now launch its latest generation in Pakistan, perhaps nothing will.
So, here is what you can expect in the all-new Toyota Corolla 2024 in Pakistan.
Design
The 12th gen Corolla is based on Toyota’s new global platform called Toyota New Global Architecture or TNGA. The 12th gen Corolla is longer than its predecessor. The front is wider as well. Though the wheelbase is the same. You will find the new Corolla slightly lower in height.
Toyota Corolla 2024 Interior
All variants of the latest Corolla have the same interior. Options and features will change but not the design.
As soon you sit inside, you’ll see a 7” digital cluster from where the driver can select his/her preferred speedometer styles – analog or digital. This option may not be available in Pakistan; however, as it is available in Thailand in only the top of the line Altis Hybrid variant.
In Pakistan, we are likely to get a 4.2” conventional needle type analog cluster instead.
Features
Depending on the variant, you can expect the following features in the upcoming Toyota Corolla 2024 in Pakistan:

Toyota Corolla 2024 Exterior
You won’t find the exterior of the two generations radically different, though there are some differences which are worth mentioning.
On the front, you can expect projector headlamps with J-type headlights. Corolla’s top variant would come with LEDs.
On the side, we can expect a new glass panel where the side view mirrors are. Staying with the side view mirrors, we can expect newly designed mirrors with indicators integrated in them. The front and rear doors could get lower curved edges. The rear of the car could have newly designed LED tail lights.
A redesigned trunk lid with connecting trim between the two taillights can make the 12th gen Corolla look different from its predecessor.
All in all, the exterior of Toyota Corolla 2024 would be elegant and sporty.
Engine & Variants
The latest 12th generation Corolla was launched in 2018 first as a hatchback and later as a sedan. In Thailand, it is available in six variants, including both the petrol and hybrid variants.
You can expect the new Corolla to appear in 1.6L or higher engine options only. It makes sense because the Toyota Indus has already phased out 1.3L Corolla variants in Pakistan.
In Thailand, the latest gen Corolla comes in 1.6L 1ZR-FBE engine with CVT transmission. It produces 125hp and 156 Nm of torque. Its elder and much-powerful sibling comes with a 1.8L 2ZR-FBE engine with CVT transmission. It produces 140hp and 177 Nm of torque.
It is not known whether Toyota Indus Motors would introduce the hybrid variant here but if it does, it may come with a 1.8L 2ZR-FXE engine that produces 98hp and 142 Nm of torque paired to a 72hp electric motor producing 122 Nm of torque.
Safety Features: Is Toyota Corolla 2024 The Safest Corolla Ever?
If Toyota Motor Corporation is to be believed, the 12th gen Corolla is the most beautiful, powerful, yet most fuel efficient and safest Corolla ever produced by the company. Globally, we know that it was the most-selling car of 2019-2021.
So, how safe will the Toyota Corolla 2024 be? Let’s take a look.

As you can see, a few of these features are already available in the 11th gen Corolla in Pakistan; however, the 12th gen Corolla comes with a whole lot of new features never introduced in Pakistan before, at least in the CKD models.
Drive Experience & Handling
Toyota Corolla 2024 is supposed to offer a smooth ride due to better suspension. Its driver would enjoy better visibility due to a lower cowl. Its responsive steering should make it maneuverable in the narrow urban lanes and streets of Pakistan. It promises to offer better handling due to a lower center of gravity. And what’s needed the most in Pakistan – it offers better fuel consumption and reduced carbon emissions.
Toyota Corolla 2024 Price in Pakistan
When will it be launched in Pakistan? No one other than Toyota Indus Motors would know. We can only hope and speculate that the 12th generation Corolla would be introduced in Pakistan in this year (2024) to boost Corolla’s existing sales numbers.
And now to the million Dollar question – the price of Toyota Corolla 2024 in Pakistan?

The new Corolla (petrol) 12th gen could be launched at a price between Rs.5,500,000 and Rs.7,000,000. The hybrid variant if launched will cost a lot more perhaps more than Rs.10 million. Though it is next to impossible to predict such things given an ever fluctuating forex, increasing taxes, increasing cost of manufacturing, increasing freight charges, etc.
