From just 611 units in March 2023 to a whopping 1,994 units in March 2024, Honda’s definitely revving up the competition. Monthly & Yearly Cars’ Sales

Honda is revving up the competition with a 162% increase in car sales, all thanks to a whopping 226% surge in Honda Civic & City sales. However, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows for Honda; the Honda BR-V & HR-V sales have taken a 13% dip.

Shifting gears to Sazgar, it’s been a banner year for the company, with its Haval lineup really hitting the gas pedal. Sales have skyrocketed by 403% compared to the same month last year, and even monthly sales have seen a boost.

Now, let’s talk about Hyundai. Sales have seen a 3% surge overall. With the exception of the Hyundai Porter, all cars have seen a monthly sales increase. However, the yearly numbers paint a different picture.

As for Suzuki, the WagonR steals the show with a whopping 170% jump in monthly sales, followed by the Bolan with a 30% increase.

And then there’s Toyota, facing a rough patch with sales down both monthly and yearly. Despite adding the Corolla Cross to the fleet, sales are struggling to match last year’s numbers. The Fortuner & Hilux sales are also on a downward trend for the second consecutive month as they have decreased both monthly and annually.

Sales Trend of Car Manufacturers

The following are the monthly sales trends of popular automobile manufacturers since January 2023.

Trend Breaker: Suzuki Sales Dip Amidst Upward Trajectory

Suzuki was riding high on an upward trend until last month, but it seems they have hit a speed bump with a 16% decline in sales, breaking their upward trajectory. The company decided to jack up their car prices in March, and it looks like customers are already taking notice. Just to put things in perspective, last year, Suzuki sold over 5.5K units in March, but this year, that number has dropped to 4.1K units. With these prices, it’s possible that we might see further decreases in sales in the coming months.

Slipping Further: Toyota’s Sales Continue Downward Trend

It’s been quite the rollercoaster for Toyota lately. Just two months ago, we were celebrating their record-breaking sales over 12 months. But it looks like the tide has turned, and Toyota’s hitting a rough patch for the second consecutive month. Sales have taken a 16% dip across the board, and it’s hitting hard, especially for the Toyota Fortuner & Hilux, which have seen a staggering 80% decrease in sales compared to the same month last year.

Tough times for Toyota as they navigate through this challenging phase. It might be the time when Toyota should introduce the 12th Generation Corolla in the country, especially since it’s been nearly 10 years since the company introduced the 11th Generation Corolla.

The Rise of Honda: Beating Toyota in Monthly Sales

The year 2024 appears to mark a revival for Honda as the upward trend continues. This turnaround is starkly different from last year, with sales steadily climbing from January to March this year compared to a decline in the same period last year. Surpassing Toyota in monthly sales is a remarkable feat, especially considering Honda’s humble sales figures of just 87 units in May last year. With the company achieving its best sales figures in 12 months, hitting 2,188 units, the excitement is evident. However, only time will reveal whether Honda can sustain this momentum and keep performing strongly in the future.

Hyundai’s Resilience: Holding Firm as Sales Stay Steady

Hyundai has received a slight boost in sales this month, which is promising. However, the overall trend has remained steady since January 2024. It will be interesting to see how the company performs in the next quarter, as that will provide a clearer picture of its trajectory.

Bouncing Back: Sazgar Haval’s Sales Surge

Sazgar’s sales have displayed remarkable improvement overall, with a staggering 403% increase in March 2024 compared to March 2023. Despite experiencing a decline in sales last month, the company has bounced back to record its second-highest sales in 12 months. The year 2024 seems to be favoring the company, particularly with its Haval line, showcasing models like Jolion, Jolion HEV, H6, and H6 HEV, which are performing exceptionally well in Pakistan.

Conclusion

Overall, there’s a positive outlook for some automobile manufacturers. Honda has seen a significant boost in sales year-on-year, whereas Toyota, Suzuki, and Hyundai have faced some challenges compared to the same month last year. Sazgar Haval, on the other hand, is maintaining a strong trajectory, bouncing back with a notable increase in sales. With the Budget 2024-25 looming, it will be interesting to see how the automobile industry performs in the upcoming months.
