My Wi-Fi Connection is Not Working?

If your phone can’t connect or if the connection is intermittent, this usually happens when your phone keeps trying to connect with an older, defunct network with similar characteristics. To fix this issue:

  1. Open the Wi-Fi section
  2. Press Edit in the top-right corner
  3. Authenticate with either TouchID or FaceID 
  4. Edit or remove network connections

How to Switch to Dark/Light Modes? 

If your phone is too bright for some late-night browsing, simply:

  1. Access Control Center by swiping down from the top right of the screen
  2. Look for an icon showing a dark and light semicircle
  3. Tap it once to switch to Dark Mode; tap again to return to Light Mode

Which Pre-Installed Apps Can I Remove?

  4. If you need to uninstall an app or add it to your home screen, simply hold down on it

This feature is back with iOS 16. To turn it on:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Battery
  3. Toggle on Battery percentage switch

How To Turn Off iPhone’s Audible Keyboard Feedback?

If you prefer to type in silence and turn off vibration then:

  1. From the Settings app, open Sounds & Haptics
  2. Scroll to Keyboard Feedback
  3. Toggle off Sound

Lock Screen Isn’t Showing Correct Location?

If your phone’s lock screen isn’t showing your real location, not showing location at all or the weather widget isn’t picking up your current location, then

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Go to Privacy
  3. Go to Location Services
  4. Turn them off. Now turn them on. Repeat.

If the weather app is acting up, uninstall it by holding the Weather app’s icon. Then reinstall it. 

Where Are My Lock Screen Widgets?

If you have missing lock screen widgets, simply open the app which should have been on your lock screen. This can ensure that the widget would appear in the widget selection window. 

How To Leave All Focus Modes?

If you want to turn off Focus modes or you’ve accidentally turned on one Focus mode while other notifications are silenced and some apps are off limits, you’ll have to deactivate them. To do it:

  1. Go to Control Center (swipe down from the top left of your screen)
  2. Tap on Focus button (it would say Personal or Work)
  3. Tap on the icon of the current Focus to turn it off
  4. You can also select another Focus mode here 

Where Did My Stacked Widgets Go?

If you have too many home screen widgets and your screen looks cluttered, you can stack them on top of each other. If you have “Smart Rotate” turned on, your phone will only show those widgets it thinks you need. Though you would still have the option of manual scrolling by swiping up and down on each widget. 

How To Quickly Remove Duplicate Photos?

Simply follow these steps:

  1. Go to Photos app
  2. Look up Utilities
  3. Look up Duplicates (You’ll see it only if your phone thinks there are duplicate photos)
  4. Click on it and merge the same photos and save space

How To Recover Deleted Photos?

If you need to recover a deleted photo, simply:

  1. Go to Photos app
  2. Look up Utilities
  3. Look up Recently Deleted folder
  4. Before proceeding further, you will need to authenticate with either punching in passcode or through TouchID or with FaceID

Once you’ve deleted photos, they get permanently deleted after one month, so beware of this cut off date. 

How To Show Wi-Fi Password?

If you need to copy your wi-fi password to another device like Windows laptop or an Android phone that isn’t privy to the built-in connection-sharing feature, you can find the wi-fi password in the Settings app. So simply,

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap on Wi-Fi
  3. Select Password
  4. Authenticate with FaceID
