Peugeot 2008 Allure Vs. KIA Sportage AWD Vs. Hyundai Tucson A/T Ultimate Comparison

Peugeot 2008 Allure Vs. KIA Sportage AWD Vs. Hyundai Tucson A/T Ultimate Comparison

The very first locally manufactured unit of a compact French SUV has rolled in Pakistan. Peugeot 2008 is the first European vehicle which has made its appearance on the SUV stage – a platform which is getting crowded by the day. Some may say, MG SUVs were the first European SUVs in the country. It’s true that MG Motor is a UK based auto manufacturing company, however it is also a subsidiary of SAIC Motor UK, a Chinese state owned company.

Irrespective of who is actually the first European SUV in Pakistan, the real question is would this SUV be loved by Pakistanis as much as they showed love for KIA Sportage, Hyundai Tucson, MG HS, etc. After all, why would you spend your hard earned money on a vehicle which has no prior history in Pakistan. Peugeot 2008s success or lack thereof would depend upon what more  it is offering in terms of specs, features, and price as compared to its competitors.

Should you consider buying a Peugeot 2008?

Before looking at its safety and comfort features, engine specifications and the rest, what is the first information everyone would lay their eyes on? PRICE.

A quick glance at the price would tell you that out of the three, Peugeot is the most expensive (ignoring Sportage’s Alpha variant). Whether its Peugeot 2008s premium Allure variant or its basic variant Active, Peugeot is the most expensive of the three SUVs. Which accentuates the importance of safety and comfort features even more.

The next question you need to ask yourself is – out of the three, is it the most luxurious?

It is smaller than its competitors and though its wheelbase is shorter than the other two, there isn’t a huge difference, so its ride quality would be pretty much the same.

Now that you know about Peugeot 2008s ride, you need to look at its safety features. Of the three, is it the safest SUV? The answer is emphatically YES. Just look at the number of its airbags.

What about this SUVs engine related statistics. Is it the fastest? The answer is YES. Look at its torque. Though its acceleration would be impressive, the SUV has a much smaller engine than the other two. While there isn’t much of a difference in their body and shape sizes, it is therefore wouldn’t be wrong to ask whether Peugeot 2008 is underpowered. Maybe this is why the company installed it with a turbo engine.

Another important question to ask yourself – would it help you save money when it comes to petrol, whose price keeps going up fortnightly? The answer is YES. Look at its fuel efficiency numbers above.

In short, Peugeot 2008 is better than its competitors when it comes to:

  • Safety
  • Acceleration
  • Fuel efficiency

However, it lags behind its competitors when it comes to:

  • Price
  • Ride comfort

Conclusion

We hope you found this quick comparison helpful. The idea is to provide you with enough information to help you make an informed decision. Please let us know which one of these SUVs would you be interested in buying and why.
