What are its chances of success in Pakistan?
Well, this is a new addition to the crossover SUV segment of the local market. With a price of 5.25 M to 5.85 M, it can compete with many other vehicles regardless of its smaller engine size. But looking at its lower engine power (130 hp) as compared to its competitors (Hyundai Tucson 155 Hp, KIA Sportage 155 Hp), it might face a tough time. Being the first one among other Peugeot cars coming to Pakistan, spare parts availability in the local market might also be an issue. However, Lucky Motors are behind Peugeot so the consumers might not see a shortage of spare parts at the official service centres.
Many other SUVs such as DFSK Glory 500, Proton X50, Oshan X7 Plus, and GAC GS3 2022 are expected to be launched this year. Their prices are expected to be quite competitive so let’s see how Peugeot 2008 performs after the launch of these SUVs.
