Apple has been making rounds with the recent launch of the three smartwatches at the Apple Launch Event. Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch SE 2022 are the successors of a previous lineup, however Apple Watch Ultra is entirely new! Apple has introduced some exciting new upgrades in these watches along with some useful features.

Looking at the specs and features table, we find that Apple Watch Series 8 hardly differs from Series 7. The design and display are entirely the same. The chipset is different so the performance is slightly better but no drastic change has been observed.
Some of the best-selling colors previously offered have been discontinued in Series 8. However, it does not matter much as the other colors offered are pretty as well.
Major Differences
Series 8 has brought along a few major features never seen in an Apple Watch before. A new body temperature sensor has been introduced. Its main purpose is to keep a track of a woman’s reproductive health including things like fertility and ovulation.
Secondly, it comes with a crash detection feature. It works similar to the fall detection feature, except it involves automobiles. God forbid, if you ever get into an accident, Series 8 will immediately send out an emergency message. It also provides low-power mode which increases the battery life up to 36 hours by limiting the health sensors and other background apps.
Apple Watch Series 8 is a great watch but if you already have a Series 7 watch, then buying Series 8 might not be such a thrilling upgrade for you. However, if you have a watch older than series 7, go for Series 8!

As the table shows, design and display hardly differ between the two watches but the latest SE(2022) is more lightweight. Unlike its predecessor, the latest SE has a nylon-infused material at the back surrounded by aluminum chassis. They have the same battery life, GPU and memory but come in different colors.
Major Differences
Coming to the differences, the new and improved S8 chipset in SE(2022) has given it a massive performance boost. It also comes with features like crash detection and low-power mode which were previously missing in the SE series.
Apple Watch SE (2022) does not have an Always-on display. It comes with a heart rate sensor but lacks some other health sensors Series 8 provides. Nonetheless, it is a great watch at a great price.
If you do not require additional health sensors like body temperature sensor or blood oxygen sensor, then it is preferable for you to go with Apple Watch SE (2022), as it is much cheaper and offers exceptional performance.

Apple Watch Ultra
Apple Watch Ultra was the ultimate highlight of the recent Apple launch event, Sept. 2022. It is a beautiful giant, in appearance and performance! It is probably the best Apple watch released till date.

Apple Watch Ultra has the biggest and the brightest display of all the Apple watches yet. Even in broad day sunlight, using the Ultra watch would not be a problem. It has crash detection and powerful health features. It is specially designed for sporty and athletic people. The excellent water resistance and the newly introduced Depth sensor can help scuba divers measure the water depth while diving.
Made with durable titanium material, it has a slightly raised case and comes with a crown guard which helps to protect the edges of the watch. Although it comes with the same chip as Series 8, it provides many more thrilling features.
The battery life is amazing and is expected to get even better with the upcoming updates. The speakers are louder and the microphone is better than ever. You would also find a new action button which is customizable. How cool is that!
In case of an emergency, Apple watch Ultra plays a sharp sound in the form of a siren which is up to 86 decibels high and can be heard from 600 feet away. It comes in only one color but there is a wide collection of watch bands it offers.
The only disadvantage some people might find is its gigantic size. Perhaps, it may be too big on the wrist for some. Other than that, it is an exceptional Apple watch.
Apple Watch Ultra Price
With the amazing features it provides, $799 (~Rs.181,000) for Apple Watch Ultra (GPS + Cellular) is not a bad price. Yes, it is high but it is still $200 cheaper than originally speculated.
Final Verdict
All three newly launched Apple Watches are great and offer amazing features. No doubt, Apple Watch Ultra is an absolute beast, but that does not defy the greatness of Series 8 and Apple watch SE (2022). Whichever suits you best in terms of features and budget, choose that.
