Documents Required

Here are the Islamabad driving license requirements to get a learner permit.

  • Original CNIC (with a temporary or permanent address of Islamabad)
  • Copy of CNIC

Procedure to Apply for Learner Driving License in Islamabad

Here are the steps to apply for a learner driving license in Islamabad.

  1. The applicant must visit the Islamabad traffic police office in person.
  2. Park your vehicle (if any) in the Street 32 parking area.
  3. Present your original CNIC at the reception to get a token (from QMS).
  4. Go to the one-window hall and wait for your turn.
  5. When your number is displayed at any counter, go there and enter the information and credentials. Ensure that all the provided information is correct.
  6. You will get your learner permit after providing the information.
  7. Now, you have to take a 1-hour class about road safety awareness and traffic rules.
  8. At the end of class, the instructor will sign and stamp the back of your learner permit.
  9. You can appear for the driving test after 42 days of issuance of a learner license.

*The learner permit is valid for 6 months from the date of issuance.

  • All applicants visiting the ITP center for any of the services, can either come as a walk-in through the queue matic token system or book an appointment.
  • A limited number of appointments are offered each day. If a person is unable to book an appointment, he/she may get services through a walk-in token system on a first come first serve basis.
  • New appointment slots open every day (Except Weekends and Public Holidays).
