There are no brownie points for guessing why auto assemblers and manufacturers have started to decrease prices. It is to boost their sales, which have been consistently declining for the past many months. It remains to be seen whether a minor price decline of Rs.100,000 will boost Peugeot’s sales. However, it can be said with certainty that as long as interest rates stay high, keeping the car leasing option out of reach for many, auto sales in general will remain low in Pakistan for the foreseeable future.
