The middle and lower middle-class Pakistanis have long had their hands tied, confined to buying cars like Mehran, Alto, and second-hand imported 660cc Japanese kei cars. They have not been able to upgrade their ride due to rising inflation, falling salaries, and increasing car prices. However, things are looking better for them with the introduction of mini electric cars made by our “Iron Brother” China.
Huazi Omega: A Quick Introduction
In a latest from the world of electric vehicles (EVs), Pak-China Huazi Green Energy (Pvt.) Ltd. a $5 million joint venture is set to unveil its first electric vehicle (EV) in Islamabad next month. For now, the car will be displayed for the public’s interest and viewing only.
However, with the import of components from China in October 2023, the Huazi Omega’s manufacturing will begin in November. The company plans to initiate the booking process for the EVs in January 2024. Furthermore, the company has plans to export the EVs to multiple countries and regions worldwide.
Pak-China Huazi Green Energy (Pvt.) Ltd., has already secured the allocation of a plot for the vehicle manufacturing factory in Hattar Special Economic Zone, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The company plans to manufacture its vehicle in two phases introducing 2-door and 4-door cars in the first phase. These EVs would primarily be for the middle and lower-middle-class segments. In the second phase, mini pickups and motorcycles for women will be introduced.
Huazi Omega 2-Door: Specs & Features
The Omega EV is a 2-door vehicle with 4 seats, featuring a distinct front design with closed fascia and circular headlights. The rear has a unique protruding appearance from the C-pillar. The car has various black elements, including door-mounted side mirrors, roof, and wheel arches, along with chrome door handles and alloy wheels.
In China, the Omega EV is available in two pure-electric cruising range options: 128km and 219 km, supported by 10.24kWh and 18.43kWh battery packs, respectively. Notably, the EV is equipped with a dual-motor four-wheel-drive system, providing a combined power of 24kW and a maximum speed of 100km/h.

Huazi Omega: Battery
Huazi Omega will come fitted with lithium batteries, backed by a warranty covering 100,000 km or 4 years. The two-door electric vehicle has a range of up to 219 kilometers on a full battery, while the four-door electric vehicle can travel up to 305 kilometers on a single charge.
Huazi Omega Price in Pakistan
As mentioned before, the company will start taking bookings for this EV early next year. However, information about its price isn’t available yet. This EV will compete with other EVs, such as the Rinco Aria and Nur-E 75, as well as a standard combustion engine hatchback, the Suzuki Alto. So, you can expect it to come with a competitive price tag.
