As you already know, Honda HR-V has been launched in Pakistan in two variants. Looking at the price of its lower variant – Honda HR-V VTi, one can’t help but compare this compact SUV with its local competitors like Sportage Alpha, Peugeot Allure, etc.
If you are looking for the comparison, this blog is for you. Those who are thinking about buying an SUV in the range of Rs.6 million must read this blog too as here you’ll find out which SUV gets you the most for your money.
So, let’s start.
Price Comparison
Here is the price difference between the four and you’ll see there isn’t a lot of difference, so therefore what the new Honda HR-V has to offer in terms of specs and features assumes even more importance.
HR-V VTi Price in Pakistan (PKR) | Chery Tiggo 4 Pro Price in Pakistan (PKR) | Peugeot Allure Price in Pakistan (PKR) | KIA Sportage price in Pakistan (PKR) |
5,999,000 | 5,499,000 | 6,100,000 | 5,999,000 (Alpha) |
While HR-V is not available in the market yet, you can buy the other three – Chery Tiggo 4 Pro, Peugeot Allure and KIA Sportage Alpha on OLX Pakistan in both new and used conditions.
Specs & Body Dimensions
Let’s take a look at how the four stackup against each other in terms of body size, handling and ground clearance, etc. We would like to remind our readers that HR-V’s both variants – HR-V VTi and VTi S have identical dimensions.
Dimension | HR-V VTi | Chery Tiggo 4 Pro | Peugeot Allure | KIA Sportage Alpha |
Length (mm) | 4346 | 4318 | 4300 | 4485 |
Width (mm) | 1790 | 1830 | 1770 | 1855 |
Height (mm) | 1590 | 1670 | 1550 | 1635 |
Wheelbase (mm) | 2610 | 2630 | 2605 | 2670 |
Ground Clearance (mm) | 196 | 185 | 170 | 172 |
Luggage capacity / boot volume (l) | – | 340 | 434 | – |
Fuel Tank Capacity | 40 | 51 | 45 | 62 |
Tyre | 215/60/R17 (Alloy Wheels) | 215/60/R17 (Alloy Wheels) | 215/60/R17 (Alloy Wheels) | 225/60/R17 (Alloy Wheels) |
Looking at the numbers, one can see that the new SUV is similar in size to the other three though it is slightly longer than the Tiggo 4 and Peugeot Allure. It offers the best ground clearance which is excellent news for those who intend to use it on urban as well as rural roads.
If you’re wondering how well it would turn on sharp turns in the congested cities of Pakistan then look at the wheelbase numbers. Clearly, Peugeot Allure is the winner here, followed by HR-V. While KIA Sportage Alpha offers the least best option though it is the most comfortable SUV on highways.
Engine Comparison

We have already done a comparison of the new HR-V VTi S versus its local competitors in terms of engine power and torque, etc. We found the new SUV to be the least powerful. If you are interested in that comparison, read: HR-V VTI-S Vs Tucson AWD Vs Sportage AWD: Japanese Vs Korean SUVs in Pakistan
Let’s see where the new SUV’s lower variant stands:
Specification | HR-V VTi | Chery Tiggo 4 Pro | Peugeot Allure | KIA Sportage Alpha |
Displacement | 1498 cc | 1498 cc | 1199 cc | 1999 cc |
Engine Type | 4 Cylinder, 16 Valve, DOHC i‑VTEC | 1.5-L TCI | 1.2L Turbo | Nu 2.0L Gasoline MPI |
Emission Standards | Euro IV | Euro V | – | – |
Maximum Output | 119 hp @6,600 rpm | 108 kw or 144.83 hp @ 5500 rpm | 96 kw or 130 hp @ 5500 rpm | 115 k or 155 hp @ 6200 rpm |
Maximum Torque | 145 N.m torque @4,300 rpm | 210 N.m @ 4000 rpm | 230 N.m @ 1750 rpm | 196 N.m @ 4000 rpm |
It is disappointing to see that the latest generation HR-V has been launched with Euro IV emission standards which isn’t going to do any favors to the environment. Chery Tiggo 4 Pro comes with Euro V standards.
As can be seen, both HR-V and Tiggo 4 Pro have the same engine displacement though HR-V produces more horsepower. However, it is Tiggo 4 Pro which wins in terms of torque.
There isn’t a whole lot of difference between the horsepowers of the new SUV and Sportage Alpha despite the latter coming with a bigger engine. However, the Sportage is much more “torquey” than the HR-V VTi.
Fuel Efficiency
At the moment it is hard to tell how fuel efficient the new SUV will be. Honda Pakistan has not claimed a range yet, so we will have to wait and see. Of the three, it is the Peugeot Allure which offers the best fuel efficiency.

– | 14.7 km/l (official)10-14 km/l (unofficial) | 15-18 km/l (unofficial) | 10-14 km/l (unofficial) |
Safety Features Comparison
Safety is extremely important and offering more airbags alone isn’t enough for the smart buyers anymore. They want more and latest safety features. Does the new SUV offer them?
Let’s find out.

With the exception of airbags, it is Tiggo 4 Pro which wins this contest. And if airbags were the only important consideration then it is Peogeut which wins this contest. In any case, HR-V VTi doesn’t offer anything which makes it stand out in this comparison.
Comfort Features Comparison
Honda HR-V VTi may not be the safest of the four, but is it the most comfortable?

Whatever the new SUV is offering, its competitors are offering as well and what’s more, they are offering more. For example, both Peugeot and Toggo 4 have a sunroof, etc. So, Honda HR-V VTi doesn’t win this contest either.
And The Winner Is….
In short, the new SUV doesn’t offer a whole lot more in terms of safety and comfort features, speed, torque and even emission standards. Also, we do not know its fuel efficiency numbers either. It is not the cheapest either.
In our opinion, this variant would not do very well in terms of sales in Pakistan. Its upper variant, HR-V VTi S which is cheaper than Hyundai Tucson and KIA Sportage AWD offers more comparatively. It could see good sales numbers in the market.
We are interested in hearing from you. If you were to buy one of the two variants of the new SUV, which one would you buy?
