Let’s start with its design.
Vivo Y55: Design and Display (D&D)
Design
Vivo Y55 seems a bit bulkier as compared to many other Vivo phones. It has a thickness of 8.42mm which is more than the thickness of another mid-range device like Vivo V23e (7.4mm). However, the weight is in proportion with its size. Plastic build might not impress many. Its feel is premium though due to its matte finishing. Its camera module looks quite premium as well.
On the top, it has a noise cancellation mic and a sim tray (dedicated microSD slot). On the right side, you’ll find the volume and power buttons. Left side is clean without any buttons. Bottom side has a speaker grill, type C port, and a microphone. On the front, there is a notch display which might be a downside as many other devices in this price range come with a punchhole selfie-camera.
This phone comes with a pre-applied screen protector that shows how much the company cares about its customers.

Display
In terms of display, Vivo Y55 looks promising. It is due to its AMOLED FHD+ screen. Due to its smaller screen size, the device is easy to use even with one hand. However, it has a 60Hz refresh rate, which is disappointing since in this price range, there are many phones with 120 Hz refresh rate. For example: Infinix Note 12 VIP.

Vivo Y55 Review: Performance
Well, here is another disappointment for some people as Vivo Y55 comes with a Snapdragon 680 which is not a suitable chipset given the phone’s price. It means this device is not for the heavy gamers. There is just one good thing in this department which is the latest operating system – FuntouchOS 12.
Would you buy Infinix Note 12 VIP or Vivo V23e with Mediatek Helio G96 for better performance or Vivo Y55?

128GB and 8GB: Rs.49,999 |
Vivo Y55 might seem a bit overpriced. But it is important to remember that the Rupee has depreciated against the US Dollar in the past couple of months. Additional taxes on mobile phones have forced companies to launch mobile phones at a higher price.
You may buy Vivo Y55 at a lower price from the retailers.
Final Verdict
If we consider the Rs.50,000 to Rs.55,000 price range, this phone might be the choice of some Vivo lovers. This Vivo phone comes with a better battery, NFC support, and a smaller notch than the Vivo V23e.
However, if you’re looking for a phone with better camera and performance in the same price range, you may want to consider Vivo V23e.
