Huawei is not coming slow even after the gratuitous ban by Google. This time, the company has launched Nova 9 in Pakistan. Huawei has already launched Nova 10 globally so the launch of Nova 9 is a bit late in the country. Don’t worry, Nova 9 has also come with many features and specs many would love. So, let us start this Huawei Nova 9 review.
Design comes first!
Huawei Nova 9 Review: Design and Display (D&D)
Design
The overall design of Nova 9 feels quite premium. Especially the rear side that is made up of frosted glass. It means fingerprint smudges are not an issue anymore. However, the frame of this device is made of plastic, which is the only downside of its design. On the front side, it has a curved display and a punch hole selfie-camera that gives the device an elegant look.
The device is sleek and thin with 7.8mm thickness. Its weight is 175g which makes it feel like a feather in the hand. It is what we can expect from a Huawei smartphone in general.
Its right side has a volume and power buttons but the left side is completely clean (without any thing). Coming to its top, there is a noise cancellation mic. Bottom side of the device contains a sim tray, mic, Type-C port, and a speaker grill.

Huawei Nova 9: Camera
Huawei Nova 9 comes with a 50 MP primary camera which might look like a downgrade as compared to its predecessor Nova 8’s 64 MP camera. But do remember that pixel count is not everything. True results depend upon the quality of camera sensor, lens, and software. So, judging the book by its cover is not a good idea.
Its rear camera can record videos up to 4K. It also supports super slow motion video recording with 720p@960fps. EIS helps stabilize the video to make them look better.
In addition to the primary camera, it has 8 MP ultrawide, 2 MP depth, and 2 MP macro cameras. Its 32 MP selfie-camera is decent enough to capture the moments. Selfie-camera supports video recording up to 4K@30fps. EIS and slow motion recording is also available with 720p@240fps.

The price of Huawei Nova 9 might seem higher. But it is close to the price of Samsung Galaxy A73 that comes with identical performance but slower fast charging (25W). You can buy Huawei Nova 9 at a lower price from the retailers.
Final Verdict
Huawei Nova 9 is overall a decent mobile phone given its impressive performance, display, camera features, and design, etc. However, people might not like its price tag. As there are no Google Play Services, Huawei could’ve launched it at a cheaper price to improve its sales.
