As the name suggests, the 2.0T AWD has advanced features including a highly powerful turbocharged 2.0 liter 4 cylinder petrol engine which generates upto 360 Nm of torque and 224 horsepower (hp) sent to all the four wheels through a 6-speed DCT transmission.

The 2.0T has similar features to the existing 1.5T but is more powerful. It is speculated that the prices of 1.5T will drop once it starts to be assembled locally; however, the 2.0T will target a specific market with a higher price tag.

MG GT in Pakistan

Looking at the teaser, it won’t be wrong to say the MG GT is a full car package with a sleek exterior, a posh interior and extensive safety features. It is going to be one of the most popular upcoming cars. However, price will play an important role in its success. It is going to be the 2nd car among the 3 to be locally assembled in the country.

The 3rd MG Car to be Locally Assembled?

As per a report, The company’s official hasn’t disclosed the 3rd car to be locally assembled. But we can guess it, right? Yes! MG 3 is still on the cards to be the 3rd locally assembled MG car in Pakistan. Although there isn’t any official confirmation but its popularity in the country can hint that the company will be considering it.

The other contenders for this spot can be MG Extender, MG RX8, and MG ZST. In any case, the MG lovers are desperately waiting for the surprise.

Will Pakistan Export Cars?

A top MG official believes that Pakistan has full potential of becoming a vehicle exporting nation. He also believe that the only sustainable and long-term solution to the crisis on Pakistan’s Automobile Industry is to export the Made in Pakistan vehicles.

Not too long ago, we made prediction about “can Pakistan export cars” after Changan exported the 1st Oshan X7 unit to the to the Oceania region. Now, another company has hinted about exporting its vehicles. So, we can predict that there is a high chance you will see vehicles being exported from Pakistan.

Conclusion

It is a good move by MG that might help the company boost its sales and get the trust among the locals. Not only this, it will also help the company to reduce the prices as the taxes on CBUs (completely build units) are more than the CKDs (completely knock down units). But no one can guarantee about the price as the company will take this ultimate decision. So, stay tuned to know about the prices and features of these locally assembled vehicles after their local production starts.

Till than, you can buy MG cars on OLX that are already available in Pakistan.

Once launched, which one of these would you be interested in buying and why? Let us know in the comments section.
