Samsung Galaxy S23 Vs. Google Pixel 7: An Android to Android Comparison

In a blog written on the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series, we had concluded that while there are impressive upgrades in the Galaxy S23 and the Galaxy S23 Plus phones, given their price there could be other phones offering similar features and a less expensive price tag. The phone that immediately comes to mind competing with the Galaxy S23 is the Google Pixel 7.

Price-wise, there is a difference of at least $200 between the two with Pixel 7 being the cheaper phone. Furthermore, the two phones are different in terms of design, display screen size, battery and chipset, etc. But are these differences significant enough that you need to dish out $200 for the Samsung flagship phone?

Let’s try finding this answer in this blog.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Vs. Google Pixel 7: Battle of Specs

Let’s check out the major specs offered by each, keeping in mind that the Google Pixel 7 is at least $200 cheaper.

As can be seen, despite being cheaper, Pixel 7s display screen is bigger along with its battery size. However, this may or may not mean that it would last longer than S23 when being used heavily. A lot depends on the processor and there is no doubt that Samsung is using a special version of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in its S23 series.

Whose Camera Is Better?

Another very important make or break factor for many is the camera. Samsung offers a dedicated telephoto camera, which Pixel does not. If you like taking long shots, you would need a telephoto camera.

While not a part of discussion here, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra now comes with a 200MP main camera. This alone has the potential of making this phone the best smartphone with a camera.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Vs. Google Pixel 7: Price Difference

While we keep saying that there’s a price difference of at least $200 between the two, we haven’t given you their exact price. Here it is.

  • Samsung Galaxy S23 – $799
  • Google Pixel 7 – $599

Google Pixel 7 is available on OLX Pakistan in both new and used conditions.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Vs. Google Pixel 7: Design, Display & Performance

Starting with the basics, the Google Pixel 7 is slightly larger and heavier than the S23. Its display screen is slightly bigger as well.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 series has a beautiful and clean design. On the front, you’ll find very thin bezels and a hole-punch selfie camera at the top. It is also perhaps the toughest smartphone of 2023, thanks to its Gorilla Glass Victus 2 covering. The rear of the phone is clean and flat barring its three camera lenses which are sticking out of the body.

The Google Pixel 7 looks very much different from the Galaxy S23. It has a polarizing design. On its front, the display takes most of the space but the phone has a small chin along the bottom bezel. The selfie camera is a hole-punch camera located at the top of the display. On the back, just as in Pixel 6, you’ll find a matte aluminum horizontal camera bar, which keeps the phone stable on a flat surface.

Samsung is making much of its special version of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The phone offers 8GB of RAM with either 128GB or 256GB of storage. On the contrary, the Google Pixel 7 uses Google Tensor G2 chipset and offers 8GB of RAM with either 128GB or 256GB of storage.

Samsung’s latest chipset is likely to be faster than Google’s Tensor G2. So, if it’s performance and speed you are looking for, you’d need to pay $200 extra.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Vs. Google Pixel 7: Battery

Samsung’s battery is smaller than Google’s but it should still last you a day with moderate use. Since the Google Pixel 7s battery is slightly larger, therefore it should last you a full day with moderate use. Both phones offer fast and wireless charging; however, the Samsung Galaxy S23 also offers 25W super-fast charging.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Vs. Google Pixel 7: Winner?

Let’s just say that there are no clear losers here. Both phones are marvelous, so a lot would depend on what you would like to get out of your phone.

Here are some of the pros and cons of each to sum up this blog and help you make up your mind:
