Great news for Oppo Reno lovers as the company has launched new models of Reno series globally. Yes, we are talking about Oppo Reno 8 and Reno 8 Pro. There are some major upgrades in these devices. Oppo Reno 8 Pro

Reno 8 Pro is packed with some of the most interesting features and specs. First of all, its design is elegant yet premium due to 7.3mm thickness, aluminum frame with flat edges, and frosted glass back. Then comes the high-end 6.7 inches AMOLED display with HDR10+, and 120Hz refresh rate. It is protected by Glass front (Gorilla Glass 5).

This phone is exceptional in terms of performance. It comes with Dimensity 8100-Max (5 nm) chipset and Mali-G610 MC6 GPU. UFS 3.1 storage type (256GB) and upto 12GB RAM are quite exceptional and indicators of its exceptional performance capabilities. It comes with Android 12 and ColorOS 12.1 operating system. 

Coming to its camera, it again has a 50 MP primary camera just like Reno 7 Pro. But there are some technical differences (i.e. wider with 23mm focal length) in it. The other 2 cameras are 8 MP ultrawide and 2 MP macro cameras. It is capable of recording 4K videos@30fps. It can also record slow motion videos upto 720p@960fps. Selfie camera is 32 MP and can record videos upto 1080p@30fps. 

It has a 4500 mAh battery and 80W fast charging support (1-45% in 10 min, 1-100% in 31 min as advertised).

Oppo Reno Pro is yet to be launched in Pakistan. Its global price is About 550 EUR (Rs.122,500). Let’s wait and see its price after its launch in Pakistan as there are some additional taxes on mobile phones in the country.

Reno 8 is the younger sibling of Reno 8 Pro. The specs and features are not much different though. Its design resembles the elder sibling but it is smaller in size. It is equipped with a 6.4 inches AMOLED 90Hz display that is enough for watching content in true colors and playing games at high fps.

It is not that much behind in terms of performance as well. Oppo Reno 8 has MediaTek Dimensity 1300 chipset Mali-G77 MC9 GPU. Both are behind the Reno 8 Pro’s performance capabilities but can still run the most demanding games at decent graphics settings. It comes with 128GB/256GB and 8GB RAM variants and the storage type is UFS 3.1. 

The camera of Oppo Reno 8 is just like its older sibling. Though there is a difference in the slow motion video recording as it is capable of recording slow motion videos at up to 1080p@120fps. Selfie camera is identical to the Oppo Reno 8 Pro. Same is the case with its battery and charging speed.

Oppo Reno 8 Price in Pakistan

As Oppo Reno 8 isn’t launched in Pakistan yet, you will have to wait for its official price in Pakistan. However, its global price is 480 EUR (Rs.109,000). However its price in India is about INR.30,000 (Rs.83,000).

Well, the company hasn’t even launched the Oppo Reno 7 series in Pakistan yet. So, we will have to wait for the launch of the Reno 8 series. Most of the companies launch their latest smartphone series in Pakistan soon after (1 – 4 months) their global launch. But Oppo takes about a year to launch the flagship or flagship killer phones in Pakistan. It is not a good practice. 

If you want to get an Oppo Reno phone, you can buy Oppo Reno 6 and Reno 6 Pro as they are the latest phones of the Reno series in Pakistan.

Conclusion

Both Oppo Reno 8 and 8 Pro are exceptional in terms of performance and cameras. The design and display of both phones are also exceptional. Moreover, the company has introduced them with 80W fast charging which was missing in their previous models.

So, both phones look promising in each department at the moment. However, we don’t know if they will remain competitive when they are launched in Pakistan.
