It’s been almost 7 months since iPhone 13 was launched and it’s still the best smartphone Apple has to offer yet. There’s no arguing iPhone 13 is among the leading smartphones globally. Pro models are destined to take things a step further, and iPhone 13 Pro is no exception.
In this blog, you will find everything there is to know about the iPhone 13 Pro – the best iPhone ever made by Apple.
Design
Apple has never been known for its exceptional design. It has been using a similar design for almost three generations now. Minor aesthetic changes are made to the exterior of iPhones. And yet, iPhone 13 design is a perfect blend of functionality and minimalism.
The display is quite similar on the front with further refined bezels and reduced notch size. The 120hz refresh rate makes it much more enjoyable to watch. Since iPhone 12, Apple has been using flat sides, and this trend is still continuing with iPhone 13.
Stainless steel is the material of choice for the iPhone 13. And that’s why it feels so solid in hand. However, it does have its own pros and cons. Pros include a great feel of the device in the hand and the weight it carries is satisfactory to some extent. The biggest cons are hand, wrist and pinky finger fatigue.
The design of this phone cannot go unnoticed with the large camera sensors at the back. iPhone 13 Pro doesn’t sit flat on a plain surface due to its large camera bump on the back.
Display
iPhone 13 Pro uses a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display. It’s an OLED panel supporting 120Hz, HDR10, Dolby Vision and 1200 nits of peak brightness levels. Ignore these fancy terms; if there has to be one word to summarize this display – It’s fantastic.
This display has great viewing angles, visible outdoors, wide color gamut, true-tone, excellent color calibration and punchy contrasts. However, it still has a warmer hue, which iPhone displays are known for.
The front display is actually ceramic coating minimizing the exposure to minor scratches. The Oleophobic coating prevents the screen from getting smudged with fingerprints.
Camera
iPhone cameras have been excellent from the very start. One of the main reasons was their excellent computational photography.
iPhone 13 Pro has a triple camera setup at the rear – all sensors being 12MP. The primary sensor is a 12MP wide lens with dual pixel PDAF and sensor shift technology. Sensor shift gives a professional bokeh effect on both images and videos. This feature is exclusive to the Pro model of the iPhone 13 series.
A 12MP telephoto lens with PDAF and 3x optical zoom enables crisp pictures at 3x magnification. And last but not least, a 12MP ultrawide lens with a wide 120˚ field of view.
All in all, this camera is the best all-rounder camera in any smartphone. Flagship models of Samsung, Google and others are competing with iPhone in the camera department but still the video quality of iPhones is unmatched by any of its competition.
Performance
Let’s have a quick look at its specs:
Chipset | A15 Bionic (5nm) |
CPU | Hexa-core (2×3.23 GHz Avalanche + 4×1.82 GHz Blizzard) |
GPU | Apple GPU (5-core graphics) |
RAM | 6GB |
Storage | 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, 1TB NVMe |
Apple’s new neural engine beats any other chipset in RAM and overall performance. NVMe ROM promises blazing fast storage.
If you buy an iPhone, expect silky-smooth performance for at least a few years. The performance of iPhones is dependent upon battery health. Read the next section for more insight.
Battery
Performance isn’t the only thing Apple has mastered. With these new iPhone 13 models, the iPhone has turned the tables with the best battery among smartphones. This has nothing to do with crazy mAH cells. In fact, these new iPhones have almost half the battery size of what their android counterparts offer.
iPhone 13 Pro has a 3095mAh battery that may charge up to 50% in 30 minutes with 23W fast charging. Apple still hasn’t improved charging speeds. Rather, there are newer ways to charge this iPhone, including MagSafe, which offers 15W wireless charging.
The A15 bionic is known for its excellent battery management. Even with a 120Hz refresh rate display (known to drain the battery a lot quicker) it still stands at the top. Simply put, it’s a two-day phone even with heavy usage.
No other smartphone manufacturer offers such an excellent stand-by as of iPhone. It hardly loses 2-3% of the charge overnight.
Software
Apple has perfected the craft of optimizing the software experience. iOS is hands down one of the best-operating systems in smartphones. There is some lag in practicality options, but Apple is slowly adding more options like widgets lately.
iPhone 13 Pro comes with iOS 15 software right out of the box. With the latest version of iOS 15, iPhone 13 Pro feels buttery smooth whether it’s day to day usage or gaming.
Apple provides 5 years of software updates for its smartphone so if you are going to buy iPhone 13 pro, you’re good for the next half decade.
For example, iPhone 7 which was launched in 2016 still receives the latest iOS update.
