As we all are aware, the recent floods caused by the monsoon rains have left many devastated. According to different sources, millions of people are affected, thousands have lost their homes, and hundreds have lost their lives.
Flood-hit people have no clothes to wear and have nothing left to eat or drink. Men, women, children and animals, all are forced to live in shelters or on the streets in stagnant water. Many have been injured or are stricken with diseases.
If you are fortunate enough to still have a roof over your head and enough food to fill your bellies, we urge you to help these people who await your help.

What Flood Hit People Need at the Moment?
There are many more things than “Ration” only that flood-hit people are in dire need. We have tried to list most of the relief items (food and non food) that our brothers, sisters, and kids need right now. Most of the following items are available in OLX Pakistan. You can get them from here and help others.
i) Food Items
These are some of the most important food items flood-hit need at the moment.
- Flour
- Rice
- Lentils (daalain, chaney, etc.) & beans
- Salt and Spices
- Oil / Ghee
- Sugar
- Powdered Milk (for children and also for tea)
- Tea
- Drinking Water
You can donate all or any of these as per your capacity.
ii) Essential Items
Collecting food and other necessary items means nothing if you can’t deliver them in time to the needy. There are many remote areas which are cut of from the land and where help cannot reach without boats. So, if you can afford them, donate boats. They are on sale on OLX Pakistan. In addition, you can take a look at the following list of urgently required items:

- Tarpaulins
- Blankets (thermal or medium thermal) depending upon weather conditions
- Plastic Mats / Ground Sheets

These were some of the essential basic items for living. You buy them in new or used condition or you can also donate some extra ones from your home.
iii) Kitchenware Items
Many of us just consider donating food. But people also need items on which they can cook food. Our brothers and sisters need kitchenware items as most of them have lost theirs in the flood. So, here are the most important ones.

- Cutlery sets (bartan) for cooking (tawa, saucepans, etc.)
- Crockery (plates, bowls, spoons, glasses, jugs, bottles)

iv) Medical Supplies
When more people live together in a humid environment and without many basic facilities, different types of diseases spread. These diseases include but not limited to Malaria, Diarrhea, skin related diseases, etc. So, medical supplies for flood-hit people are inevitable.
