Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5
The wait for the new Galaxy Z Fold is over as the company has introduced Z Fold5 in the event. And guess what? There are several improvements in the new device.
Refinement over overhaul: The Galaxy Z Fold5 is a refinement piece rather than a major overhaul, building upon the success of its predecessor, which was the best-selling large foldable globally.
Samsung has resolved a major complaint with the Galaxy Z Fold4 by introducing the Flex Hinge, allowing the Z Fold5 to close fully flat. This new hinge design diffuses external impacts and enables a more flexible Flex mode for hands-free photo taking and split-screen applications.
Thinner and lighter: The Z Fold5 is thinner and 10g lighter than its predecessor, thanks to the flat folding position due to the Flex Hinge.
Display and resolution: Both the cover display and the main screen have the same specs as the previous model. The outside display is a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X with a 2316x904px resolution and 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The main screen is a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X with 2176x1812px resolution and adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. Also, the main screen has gotten 30% brighter, reaching a peak of 1,750 nits.
Better Performance: The Z Fold5 is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile chipset, a little better than the previous generation. Another improvement is in the storage type which is now UFS 4.0 compared to UFS 3.1 of its predecessor. Its cooling system has been improved for better heat dissipation. So, you are definitely going to get better performance than before.
Unchanged Camera System: The camera system remains the same as the previous year’s model. It includes two selfie cameras (10MP f/2.2 on the cover screen and 4MP f/1.8 under-display) and three rear cameras (50MP f/1.8 wide-angle, 12MP f/2.2 ultrawide, and 10MP f/2.4 3x zoom).
Battery & Charging: The battery capacity remains at 4,400mAh, supporting 25W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. Battery life of the new device can be slightly better due to the more efficient Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip.
Improved Multitasking: Samsung has made improvements to multitasking, including a taskbar that holds up to four recent apps and enhanced two-handed drag and drop functionality.
New S Pen Fold Edition: There is a new, slimmer, and more compact S Pen Fold Edition available for the Galaxy Z Fold5. It can be paired with the Slim S Pen Case and comes in various colors.
