Why a Price Hike Now?

Well, it is the first price hike by the company in nearly a year, as the company previously changed Alto’s prices on 1-Mar-2024. Suzuki has mentioned in its circular that all variants of the Alto have been upgraded in terms of comfort & safety but doesn’t specify what changes have been made in this regard.

If I talk about sales, Suzuki Alto’s sales surged by 68.9% year-on-year at the start of 2025, rising from 2,983 units in January 2024 to 5,039 units in January 2025. Not only this, it was the top-selling car of 2024.

I guess the massive sales boost gave the company confidence to increase the prices of its cars. Many medium-income people who were planning to buy the Alto might find this news a little disturbing. Moreover, the Suzuki Ravi is used for commercial purposes (mostly by small businesses), and this price hike will affect them as well.
