Vehicle owners who fail to pay their token tax before the deadline, which is October 31, 2025, will face a strict crackdown. It is one of the important initiatives taken by the government to encourage people to be more responsible and pay their taxes on time. But not just this, this initiative is also taken for strengthening financial discipline in the country.
Furthermore, the Director General of Excise and Taxation claimed that there were 1.4 million vehicles that were registered and had unpaid token tax. Out of which, almost 900,000 paid their taxes, but a few were still left. Considering this, the government introduced this crackdown, which aims to suspend the registration of the default vehicles on the roads.
