Mercedes-Benz: A, C, E, G & S Classes with Models | Their Advantages and Disadvantages

Whether it’s with my engineers in the team, my home life, or my friends, I don’t like things to get complicated – and one good example would be the steering wheel in my Mercedes Formula 1 car. Lewis Hamilton

For the famous British race car driver, Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes-Benz Classes may not be complicated but for a layman it is anything but. The uber-famous German auto manufacturer after all offers vehicles in 11 classes with some having their own sub-classes denoting their body shape.

The scope of this blog is not to overview all of Mercedes-Benz Classes and their subclasses, but rather focus on the most-popular Mercedes classes, models offered within these classes and their pros and cons.

So without further ado, let’s dive in and try to make Mercedes Classes as simple for you as it is for Lewis Hamilton.

Mercedes A-Class: Overview, Models, Pros and Cons

One of the biggest-sellers among the Mercedes-Benz fleet, the A-Class models are available in both hatchback and saloon. The exterior exhibits perfect symmetry with body lines going in one direction; the interior is equally impressive. Offering ambient lighting and panoramic screen, the A-Class truly offers one of the most luxurious cabins in its class.

This class offers five models:

  • Sport
  • Sport Executive Edition
  • AMG Line Executive Edition
  • AMG Line Premium Edition
  • AMG Line Premium Plus Edition

You should consider buying an A-Class Mercedes-Benz if:

  • You are looking for a comfortable drive
  • State of the art cabin
  • Extensive model range

However, be mindful of the fact that this Class alone can make a hole in your pocket; Mercedes-Benz A-Class is expensive.

Mercedes C-Class: Overview, Models, Pros and Cons

If the A-Class is offered in two body types, the C-Class Mercedes-Benz is offered in four – saloon, cabriolet, coupe and estate. Design and functionality wise, the C-Class is where luxury meets affordability.

Recently upgraded, the C-Class now comes with many new safety and comfort features like ambient lighting, digital display, mild autonomous driving and others.

This Class is offered in seven models, namely:

  • Sport
  • AMG Line
  • AMG Line Edition
  • AMG Line Premium
  • AMG Line Edition Premium
  • AMG Line Premium Plus
  • AMG Line Night Edition Premium Plus

No matter which model you prefer to drive, you’ll find it comfortable to ride though some may find its traditional design dull.

Mercedes E-Class: Overview, Models, Pros and Cons

Like the C-Class, the E-Class is also offered in four different body types – saloon, cabriolet, coupe and estate. Whether the “E” in this Class stands for Executive or not, you’d certainly feel like an executive driving the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

Its interior offers multicolor ambient lighting, Burmester speaker system, digital cockpit featuring MBUX, while its exterior is sleek. This Class offers a variety of customization options.

Within this range, you have five models to choose from:

  • Sport
  • AMG Line
  • AMG Line Premium
  • AMG Line Edition (plug-in hybrid)
  • AMG Line Night Edition Premium Plus

This car will offer you:

  • An ultra-luxurious driving experience
  • State of the art features inside the cabin

However, it has some disadvantages as well.

  • Rear seating space may be cramped
  • Lacks the oomph factor

Mercedes G-Class: Overview, Models, Pros and Cons

At the expense of oversimplification, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class is hard on the outside and soft on the inside. However, don’t let its rugged looks fool you. It is equally fun to cruise on motorways and as a sports car.

For an ultimate, luxurious offroading experience, you need to get your hands on this Class of Mercedes-Benz lineup.

The G-Class is offered in two models:

  • G 400 d Edition
  • G 400 d AMG Line Premium

As you must have guessed already, it is a very expensive line of Mercedes SUVs and a fuel-guzzler. And these two are its biggest cons. However, if you want to experience unparalleled off-roading experience, Mercedes-Benz G-Class should be your first choice.

Mercedes S-Class: Overview, Models, Pros and Cons

Built like a tank, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class also offers a unique comfort experience. Its perfectly proportioned exterior exudes premiumness, while its interior is epitome of modern luxury.

As an owner of the S-Class Mercedes-Benz, you’ll enjoy contemporary features like digital headlights, MBUX augmented reality head-up display, 12.8-inch OLED centre console and 3D driver display.

Within this class, you have five options to choose from:

  1. AMG Line (short wheel base only)
  2. AMG Line Premium (short and long wheel base)
  3. Long AMG Line Premium Plus
  4. Long AMG Line Premium Executive
  5. Long AMG Line Premium Plus Executive

You can’t go wrong with the S-Class. It is super-safe, uber-powerful and quiet. However, it is also a fuel-guzzling machine which is expensive to afford.

The Mercedes-Benz Classes mentioned above are some of the most observable on the roads of Pakistan as compared to other Mercedes Classes and subclasses. We hope you now know the main differences in these classes and their advantages and disadvantages.
