GWM Tank 500 HEV: A Cheaper and Cleaner “Land Cruiser”

The world learned about the Tank in 2022 at the Bangkok International Motor Show in Thailand. Specifically, in December 2022, GWM unveiled the Tank 500 HEV. They announced it would be manufactured in Thailand and become available in Australia and New Zealand by mid-2024. However, much before Australia and New Zealand, it has been introduced in Pakistan by Sazgar Engineering, the local partners of China’s Great Wall Motors (GWM). Market Reception and Comparison with Toyota Land Cruiser Prado

Since its unveiling in 2021 and launch in 2022, the Tank 500 has aimed to challenge the Toyota LC Prado. The Tank 500 is positioned as a competitor to the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. It’s slightly larger than the Prado, measuring 5,078mm long, 1,934mm wide, and 1,905mm tall, with a 2,850mm wheelbase.
