Did you know the new Civic is highly priced, so much so that its base variant – 1.5L Turbo M-CVT costs more than Altis Grande and Elantra’s top variants?
Now you should be asking yourself, what’s special about this new Civic? Why should you be buying this expensive sedan when you can buy other cheaper, presumably better sedans.

Civic vs Grande vs Elantra: What is the price difference?
Let’s begin with the price of the three.

As you can see, the prices of top Grande and Elantra variants are significantly lower than the base variant of Civic. Let us see if the price difference is justified in specs and features.
Do they have identical dimensions?
Honda Civic’s specifications haven’t been released by the company yet. But there’s no significant difference between the old and new models of Civic especially when it comes to the body size.

New Civic is the longest and widest among all but has lowest height. Wheelbase of new Civic is also the longest in this comparison. Its ground clearance is nowhere near to Grande. In overall body dimensions, Civic 2022 is better than others.

It is important to note that fuel averages may vary depending upon various factors. These factors include but are not limited to driving styles, road conditions, city vs highway driving, etc. It is too early to discuss mileage of the new Civic. Do they all have the same safety features?
If you are going to pay about 1 million more for Civic’s base variant, it better be safer than the other two, right? Let’s find out if it actually is. However, keep in mind that the base variant of Civic is not equipped with Honda Sensing.

As can be seen, the base variant has almost the same features that you get in a Grande or an Elantra. You don’t get any special or extra safety features with 1 million rupees. Yes, the cameras are also missing in base variant of Civic.

You are not going to find some comfort features in the base variant of Civic that you can enjoy in the other two cars. A smaller screen less number of speakers, sunroof, and rain sensing wiper are the notable features missing in it.
Should you buy the new Civic 2022?
Unless you’re a diehard Civic lover, it’s hard to see why anyone would buy Civic’s base variant. It’s neither safe nor offers more comfort features than the other two. And on top of it, it is 1 million more in price.
