Pakistan’s proposed Auto Policy Draft 2026–31 is likely to get vehicle prices revised along with the revised sales tax rates. This change is expected across several vehicle categories; some may get 20% cheaper, and a few may see a price increase. That will be confirmed once the Auto Policy Draft is approved, but here is what is expected according to the reports.
Current vs. Proposed Sales Tax Rates
The Auto Policy Draft approved by the minister suggests a 6% sales tax rate instead of the 1% (current rate) for the range-extended vehicles, whereas the battery electric vehicles’ sales tax remains the same. This clearly indicates a price increase for the REEVs.
Plug-in hybrid vehicles are likely to see a sales tax rate of 9%, down from 18% to 25%, depending on the vehicle category. On the other hand, the hybrid electric vehicles are expected to get 18% to 25% sales tax, which is the same as the recent one.
The petrol vehicles are also likely to have the 18% to 25% sales tax depending on the vehicle category.
These revised sales taxes in the Auto Policy Draft will change the prices of different vehicles.

As per the reports, the Suzuki Cars are expected to get cheaper with the tax relief. Here are the current prices and estimated prices mentioned below:
Kia Stonic Estimated Price Reduction
Kia Stonic is also expected to get a price drop on both its variants. This car is currently priced at Rs. 5,499,000 to Rs. 5,899,000, and the following are estimated price revisions:
