- Deadline July 9: Pilgrim registration is open until July 9 with no fee required at this stage

- 15 Banks Nationwide: Registrations are being handled through 15 designated banks across the country
Pakistan has begun mandatory registration of pilgrims intending to perform Hajj in 2026, with the process running until July 9 and no fee required for this initial signup.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced that registration is required for all applicants, whether they plan to join the government-sponsored Hajj or a private tour operator, as well as for Pakistanis living abroad
Registration can be completed through 15 designated banks across the country. Only those who sign up by the July 9 deadline will be considered for Hajj 2026, after which pilgrims can choose to proceed under the government scheme or with private operators
Officials have clarified that no payment is needed at the registration stage, aiming to make the process accessible to everyone.
According to officials, the early registration drive is being carried out on the instructions of Saudi authorities, who will set Pakistan’s Hajj quota based on the number of intending pilgrims who register now.
Detailed expenses and other conditions for Hajj 2026 will be announced later in line with the official Hajj policy.
Once Saudi Arabia finalizes the quota and guidelines. This proactive step comes after Pakistan struggled to utilize its full Hajj quota in 2025. The country had an allotment of 179,210 pilgrims for Hajj 2025, divided equally between the government and private schemes.
However, tens of thousands of private-sector slots went unused due to administrative delays and underperformance by some tour operators.
In response, the government has called for urgent reforms and earlier preparations to ensure every allocated spot is filled next year
