Xiaomi 14 Ultra: Is it Worth The Upgrade?

Xiaomi is all set to make waves again with its new top of the line variant Xiaomi 14 Ultra. The new and advanced version definitely has Xiaomi fans in for a treat. The enthusiasm surrounding Xiaomi 14 Ultra is for all the right reasons as this model has supposedly surpassed all the previous Xiaomi mobile phones in various aspects. Now, let’s not keep you waiting and dive deep into the specs and features of the new Xiaomi Ultra. Moreover, let us take a look at the Xiaomi 14 Ultra price in Pakistan.

Design

Splendid in its design, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is a sight to behold though it is not much different from its predecessors. The marvelous monstrosity of the camera module is the first thing to catch your attention. The aluminum frame of Xiaomi 14 Ultra ensures reliability in the phone’s body. Furthermore, instead of the commonly seen shiny glassy rear side, Xiaomi 14 Ultra comes with a fine leather back. The rugged texture is perfect for adventurers.

As compared to the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, the new model has improved wear-resistance making it highly convenient and durable. Being thin on top and thick on the sides, the bezel is not uniformed but it does not affect the appearance much. Moreover, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra comes in two colors of black and white. The panel of the phone melts right into the edges, giving it a smooth finish. Hence, the improved Xiaomi model is a robust piece of tech to hold.

Display

The display game is much stronger than the basic Xiaomi 14 model. With slight curves on the edges, the display runs smooth with the 120Hz refresh rate which has become a norm these days. Despite the display being smoother, the difference is hardly noticeable from its predecessor.

Infused with an AMOLED All-around liquid display, Xiaomi 14 Ultra remains responsive even under a heavy load. Secondly, the non-reflective display of the phone makes it great to use in the bright sun without troubling your vision.

Camera

The camera is actually insane! The protruding lens of the camera almost engulfs the functionality of a professional camera as the 1.0” type film sensor used is found mostly in cameras of professional use only. This means that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra can capture stunning photos even in the low lighting conditions. However, camera placement makes the top of the phone heavy, which many may consider as a drawback.

The Leica quad camera system offers stunning visuals. Moreover, it can capture vibrant images and is great at handling shocks due to its impressive image stabilization. Although the Xiaomi 14 Ultra camera is at the top of its game in the 14 series, there is only a minimal difference as compared to the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. Basically, this model can also be called a camera phone.

Performance

Xiaomi Ultra 14 is a powerhouse packed with a flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset designed to provide a fast and intelligent user experience. Xiaomi phones have maintained their reputation by giving a strong game in performance. Plus, it supports a storage space of 512 GB but does not offer a memory card slot.

Although it serves as a great Xiaomi model when looked at individually, consistency has been noticed in the performance specs when compared to the predecessors of Xiaomi 14 Ultra. The chipset refresh in Xiaomi 14 Ultra stands contributes to a minor variation in the performance only. The changes made are barely noticeable which makes us question if Xiaomi 14 Ultra is worth the upgrade.

Features

The new Xiaomi 14 Ultra offers some subtle yet noteworthy upgrades over its predecessor. It also comes with an under-display fingerprint sensor like its precursor, which is more convenient than a side-mounted one. Additionally, the phone is equipped with a Dual-Channel IceLoop System which is designed to prevent overheating. This system is particularly impressive for keeping the camera cool during extended use.

A fascinating new addition is the AI LM computational photography, introduced for the first time in the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. This advanced feature enhances the phone’s imaging capabilities, allowing for incredibly refined photos and videos. With these upgrades, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra continues to impress with its innovative technology and user-friendly design.

Now this is the part where Xiaomi 14 Ultra may disappoint. With the launch of the upgraded model, you may have expected battery longevity, whereas this model comes with the same 90W charging.

However, the wireless battery feature is impressive, boosting from 50W in its predecessors to straight 80W. As per the advertisement, Xiaomi 14 Ultra can fully charge the phone in 33 mins through wired charging, and 46 mins in the wireless one. Still, the overall endurance of the battery is less impressive.
