Xiaomi 12S Series Announced Globally

Xiaomi has announced the 12S series that contain 3 smartphones – 12S, 12S Pro, and 12S Ultra. All of these devices look promising. However, the top model Xiaomi 12S Ultra looks like a real flagship in performance, design, and specifically in the camera department. Curious to know more about these phones? Xiaomi 12S

Xiaomi 12S is the base model of the 12S series. Its specs and features are quite competitive to the other two phones in this series. It has the same chipset (Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1) and GPU (Adreno 730) like the other 2 phones. Same goes for its operating system (Android 12, MIUI 13). It means its performance is going to be almost the same as the top model.

The difference is mainly in the camera and display departments. It comes with a 6.28 inches AMOLED (120 Hz) screen with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.

Talking about its camera, this phone has a 50 MP primary camera with a large 1/1.28″ sensor. A 13 MP ultrawide and 5 MP telephoto / Macro camera is also available. Its video recording support is upto 8K@24fps. It also supports super slow video recording 720p@1920fps. With the Leica lens, the picture quality is going to be supreme. On the front side, it has a 32 MP selfie-camera. It can record videos in 1080p@60fps and 720p@120fps.

It comes with a 4500 mAh battery and a 67W fast charger. It also supports 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse charging.

Xiaomi 12S Price in Pakistan

The Xiaomi 12S series was announced recently. So it is too early to predict its price in Pakistan. Its announced price is 570 Euro (Rs.120,000 Approx.).

Xiaomi 12S Pro

Xiaomi 12S Pro is a bridge between the 12S and 12S Ultra. Feature-wise, it is somewhat ahead of 12S but behind 12S Ultra. It has a 6.73 inches LTPO AMOLED (120 Hz) display with 521 ppi density. Its processor (Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1) and GPU (Adreno 730) are the same as in other devices. So, the performance is going to impress many.

In terms of camera, this device is not far behind the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. On the rear side, it has a triple camera setup (50 MP wide 1/1.28″, 50 MP telephoto, and 50 MP ultra wide). Video recording is the same as 12S with an addition of HDR10+ support. Same is the case with selfie-camera which is also almost identical in the entire series.

It has a 4600 mAh battery and 120W fast charging (0-100% in 19 min as advertised). 50W Wireless charging and 10W reverse charging is also available.

Xiaomi 12S Pro Price in Pakistan

Xiaomi 12S Ultra

Last but not the least, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra is the best phone of this series. It is the best in most departments. Starting with the display, it has a 6.73 inches LTPO2 AMOLED 120Hz panel with Dolby Vision. Its resolution is 1440 x 3200 pixels (521 ppi density) which promises crisp and color rich visuals.

It has an eco leather back and aluminum frame. For some people, its depth might not be impressive as it is 9.1 mm thick. Its weight is also a bit on the higher side. But you can consider it a trade-off for the large screen and battery capacity. It has an IP68 rating for dust / water resistance.

Coming to its camera, it is among the best in the industry. It has a triple camera setup at the back. Its primary camera is 50.3 MP but it is the 1-inch (full-frame) sensor that makes it special. Also, with the Leica lenses, the quality of images is going to impress many. It can record videos of up to 8K. It also supports super slow motion (720p@3840fps). Selfie camera is the same as other devices in this series.

Xiaomi 12S Ultra comes with the same processor as others in this series. It has the largest battery (4860 mAh). However, the fast charging support of 67W might be disappointing. The 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse charging is available in this phone as well.

Xiaomi 12S Ultra Price in Pakistan

This phone is not yet launched in Pakistan. However, its announced price is 950 Euro (Rs.200,000 Approx.).

Final Verdict

Xiaomi has improved a lot in the camera department. We cannot expect anything less than the best in terms of performance from a Xiaomi Flagship phone. The company has also improved displays in this series. Overall, it is an impressive series.
