Morris Garages (MG) recently showed a glimpse of the MG hatchback in the new teaser. Apparently, it seems like a successor to the MG3 hatchback. However, MG is not carrying forward the internal combustion engine from the MG3 series.
Instead, the company is going all-electric. The only thing confirmed about this zero-emission hatchback is that it will be launched at the European premiere set in Q4 this year. MG has also confirmed the length of this hot hatchback, which is 4300 mm.
What can be made out from this teaser is this hatchback’s excellent dynamics and design. This EVs rear headlights feel like Haval Jolion’s rear headlights, representing the same leaf-like design extended throughout the vehicle’s body.
It’s rolling with large 225/65/R17 tyres with hyper finish alloy rims, which feel super-premium and stealthy. This car’s diffuser style lower side profile adds to the appealing design. The side-view mirrors are black colored for a stealth look, and these have inbuilt cameras that can either be used for 360-degree view or as blind spot cameras.
MG is already using electrical components in its other electric vehicles like MG ZS EV and MG HS PHV in Pakistan. We expect it to feature the same 156hp and 280 Nm producing 61.1kWh electric motor. This electric motor setup lasts around 400km of the WLTP range. MG customized its electric vehicles to make a different trim for power-hungry drivers, boosting the power figures by 177 hp while lowering the range to 320 km using a 50.3 kWh battery.
When will it be released in Pakistan?
Unfortunately, international models are almost never introduced in Pakistan. Instead, companies feature old discontinued generations that are further trimmed down in specs and features. Even after this hatchback is launched internationally, which is at the end of 2022, there is a very slim chance of it being introduced here anytime soon. We don’t know if this MG EV hatchback will ever be introduced here.
Can you guess the price of this vehicle in Pakistani rupees? Do you think it will ever come to Pakistan? Let us know in the comment section below.
