NADRA Biker Service which is already being offered in Islamabad is about to be started in Karachi soon. This service allows people to get their CNIC issued and verified from the comfort of their homes.
The officials have confirmed the possible launch of this service in Karachi. However, the details are yet to be disclosed. In Islamabad, people have to pay Rs.1000 as service charges to get this service (as per officials). Also, people can only apply for the executive category through this service which is again the costliest among others. In the end, printed cards are delivered to the address of citizens.
People can call the NADRA staff at their homes by dialing the helpline 1777 (for subscribers of Mobilink, Ufone, Telenor and Zong) or 051-111786100 (for fixed lines and overseas applicants).
A major media outlet reports that female bike riders will be hired for the service being introduced in Karachi. But we have no official words on it yet.
Overall, it is a good initiative which is already saving time and hassle for many in Islamabad and will now save and give benefits to the Karachi citizens. However, the service charges and availability of only executive category applications are a little extra burden on the pockets of citizens. Let’s see how much time it will take to introduce this service in all major cities of Pakistan.
