There have been multiple changes made by the Punjab Excise and Taxation Department. Previously, it was announced that the number plates of vehicles will now be assigned based on the owner’s CNIC, and then an increase in the vehicle registration and transfer fee. But now there has been another change with a simplified process of vehicle registration and transfer in Lahore. Let’s have a look!

Vehicle Registration and Transfer Made Easier in Lahore

The citizens no longer have to bring their vehicles for registration or transfer in Lahore. The process has been simplified, taking full advantage of the technological world. Rizwan Sherwani, the Director General of Excise, has made a decision that the citizens of Lahore no longer have to bring their vehicles to the Excise Department office for inspection purposes. Then how will this system work? Well, you only have to upload the vehicle images from the front, back, and chassis.

Additionally, this change is not only made considering the applicant’s ease but also for the vehicle inspector as well. The in-person inspection of the vehicles consumed a lot of time, which means a longer processing time. He also added that once the images are uploaded, the process will start forwarding the case to the vehicle inspector.

Besides this, the Director General also ensured that you can still secure your desired number of vehicles, despite the change in the system. For this purpose, a PSID will be generated for the applicants.

Final Verdict

In conclusion, the vehicle registration and transfer process simplified in Lahore, announced by the Director General of Excise. This process aims to ease the procedure, not just for the vehicle inspectors but also for the citizens.
