Traveling safely in Pakistan has become one of the major concerns for people due to increasing traffic violations. Considering the high rate of violations in Sindh, the government introduced strict measures, which included an increase in challan fees and the installation of the E-challan system. However, to take complete benefits of the digitized technology, the E-challan system in Sindh has now introduced a new initiative. Know more about it in the blog.
Violators in Sindh To Get E-Challans at Home
The City Traffic Police and Pakistan Post signed a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) to ensure people receive their e-challans at home. This initiative aims for a smooth e-challan system to be carried out in Sindh with the help of broader technological reforms.
This agreement states that e-challans will be delivered at the violator’s home within 24 hours in Karachi and Hyderabad, whereas in other cities, it might take a few working days.
In the meeting, IG Memon claimed that this faceless e-challan system is already functioning in the license department, but now it will play an important role in e-challans as well. The cost of each e-challan ticket for Karachi and Hyderabad is Rs. 26, whereas for other cities, the cost is going to be Rs. 41.
Conclusion
To sum up, there has been an upgrade made in the e-challan system in Sindh to prevent traffic violations. An MoU signed between the city traffic police and Pakistan Post will ensure the violators get e-challans at their doorsteps within 24 hours. However, people in Sindh will now have to drive their vehicles carefully, considering traffic rules and regulations.
