2024 marked a significant revival for the automobile industry, with car sales surging by over 50% compared to 2023. As the car sales data is out, I have brought to you the top-selling cars in Pakistan for 2024, a comparison of sales for 2024 vs. 2023, and sales trends of the popular car manufacturers.
Let’s start with the best-selling cars!
Top Selling Cars in Pakistan
The best-selling car in Pakistan is none other than the Suzuki Alto. The company managed to sell around 42K units of the Alto. The next in line are Toyota’s cars (Corolla, Yaris, and Corolla Cross) with accumulated sales of over 20K. Honda Civic and City have taken the third position. But the dark horse in this list is the Sazgar Haval, as it was not even on the list of the top 10 best-selling cars in Pakistan but has taken the fourth position this year.
Here are the top-selling cars in 2024:
Cars | Sales |
Suzuki Alto | 42,072 |
Toyota (Corolla, Yaris & Corolla Cross) | 20,659 |
Honda Cars (Civic & City) | 13,967 |
SAZGAR HAVAL | 8,239 |
Suzuki Swift | 6,921 |
TOYOTA (Fortuner & IMVs) | 5,454 |
Suzuki Bolan | 4,608 |
SUZUKI RAVI | 3,622 |
Suzuki Cultus | 3,100 |
HYUNDAI TUCSON | 3,057 |
Top Selling Hatchbacks
Alto is the king in the hatchback category. Surprisingly, the Suzuki Swift, a costly hatchback, has taken 2nd place, beating the Cultus and Wagon R in sales. The third place belongs to the Cultus. Yes, all top three hatchbacks are made by Suzuki Pakistan, as it’s ruling this category, unlike the sedans, where each company is facing more competition nowadays.
Top Selling Sedans
Both Honda and Toyota have gained more sales for their sedans this year. Toyota stands at the top position with around 20.6K units sold, but this number also includes the sales of the Corolla Cross (a separate number for the Toyota sedans is not available). The sales of Honda City and Civic have also increased significantly (+78%), and they are stuck in the 2nd spot. Hyundai has faced a decrease in the sales of its sedans (Sonata & Elantra), yet they stand at the 3rd spot.
2023 vs. 2024 Car Sales Comparison
The year 2024 is quite an impressive one for the car manufacturers. The number of cars sold jumped from 81,654 in 2023 to 124,802 in 2024, increasing by 53%.
Sazgar Haval turns out to be the best-growing company with a 233% increase in car sales. It sold 2475 units in 2023, which increased to 8239 units in 2024.
The 2nd most successful company in yearly comparison is Suzuki if we take 1000 units sold as a minimum limit. Suzuki sold 38,988 cars in 2023, and in 2024, it sold 64,259 units (a 65% jump). It is mainly due to a 99% increase in Alto’s sales (21,170 in 2023 vs. 42,072 in 2024).
The 3rd best-growing automobile brand is Honda, as its car sales increased from 10,661 in 2023 to 15,413 in 2024, making it an increase of 45%.

Sales of Popular Car Manufacturers
The sales of popular car manufacturers have increased in 2024, indicating a comeback after a very bad period in 2023. Check out the sales trends of the major car manufacturers in Pakistan.
Suzuki Sales Trend in 2024
The sales of Suzuki cars went through a lot during 2024, yet it managed to end on a high. March & August were the worst months, and the sales topped in October 2024. The trend looks solid, and the sales may continue to increase in 2025, but they can be affected by numerous factors.
Toyota Sales Trend in 2024
Toyota’s sales were solid during the first half of 2024 and peaked in June. However, they dropped sharply in July but started to gain momentum until October, after which they have been dropping constantly. It shows that the people want the new generation of Corolla in Pakistan in 2025.
Honda Sales Trend in 2024
Honda’s sales peaked in the first quarter of 2024 and started gaining elevation from July until October 2024, after which they dropped. The graph shows that the company’s sales have settled at 1,050 to 1,150 per month on average. Let’s see if the company can elevate them to a higher point in 2025 or not.
Hyundai Sales Trend in 2024
The first half of 2024 was steady for Hyundai, and its sales peaked in June. After that, it faced a significant decline in sales. However, after the launch of the Elantra Hybrid in October, the sales started to regain momentum, and with the launch of the Hyundai Sonata N Line in Pakistan, its sales may grow further, but again, some factors can affect that.
Sazgar (Haval) Sales Trend in 2024
If I say this year belongs to Sazgar Haval in terms of growth, it will not be a lie. See the trend as it is showing a consistent increase in sales after the initial dip. However, it’s sales dropped in November, and we don’t have official data for December yet. So, let’s see how it will perform in 2025.
Final Verdict
The economic stability in 2024 and fewer price hikes have resulted in significant growth in the sales of the automobile industry compared to 2023. However, sales of cars are still pretty low compared to where they were in 2022. For comparison, 226,691 cars were sold in Pakistan in 2022. Comparing 2024’s sales (124,802) with 2022, they are still 45% down.
So, we will have to see how the industry performs in 2025 and if it achieves the sales figures of 2022 or not. Stay in touch with OLX Blog for the latest information, informative blogs, and in-depth analysis.
