Punjab To Experience an Increase in Traffic Fines

With frequent road mishaps and violations of laws, road safety has become a major concern for people in the country. Considering this, the Punjab government has introduced an increase in traffic fines in Pakistan. This means the violators will now have to experience the higher penalties. Know more about it in the blog.

Traffic Fines Increased in the Country

The increase in traffic fines aims to maintain road discipline and make it safer for travellers. According to the updates, the traffic fines that were around Rs. 100 to Rs. 200 will now be increased. On the other hand, the traffic fines for 2000cc vehicles will be going through penalties for overspeeding up to Rs. 20,000.

Furthermore, traffic signal violations, overloading of the vehicle, and wrong-way driving will result in fines up to Rs. 15,000. The use of pressure horns will also lead the violators to pay a heavy fine of up to Rs. 10,000.

Is it Going To Benefit People?

The increase in traffic fines is regulated in the country to ensure road safety. Those who constantly violate the traffic rules without worrying will now have to pay high penalties. For instance, riding a bike without a helmet and not following the traffic rules are two major traffic violations committed by drivers. The increase in the fine would encourage the drivers to follow the rules and prevent violations that can not just harm them but also other citizens as well.

Final Verdict

To sum up, know that the traffic rules are made in the country for the sake of the citizens’ road safety and prevention against road accidents or mishaps. Not following them will lead you to pay the penalties. And now that the Punjab government has announced the increase in traffic fines, you would not want to pay them. Therefore, make sure you follow the rules and regulations properly when on the road.
