Honda has recently launched 2 variants of HR-V in Pakistan. Many of us were excited about the Honda compact crossover SUV but the company has introduced downgraded versions of the cars if we compare them with their international variants. To help you understand the differences, we have chosen the comparison of the base variant (VTi) of Pakistani HR-V Vs International HR-V (base variant).
For the international variant, we have chosen the Malaysian HR-V S (base variant). So, we will use the terms interchangeably in this blog.
HR-V Review
Without any delay, let’s start with the exterior comparison.
International Vs Pakistani HR-V: Comparison of Interior
There seems little to no difference between the local and international HR-V variants. The main difference you will find is in the steering wheel as the cruise control option is missing, which is available in the international variant. But, the infotainment screen in the local variant is 1 inch larger (9-inch) as compared to the 8-inch screen of the international variant.
Pakistani HR-V Vs International HR-V: Exterior Comparison
The exterior of both CUVs is almost the same. However, the international variant comes with a body-colored front grille as compared to the black front grille in the local HR-V. Also, the claddings have a piano black color in the international HR-V compared to the regular black color in the local variant.

There is absolutely no difference between the engine and power of international and local HR-V.
HR-V Fuel Average
The fuel average of Malaysian HR-V (simple) is almost 17 km/l (as per the company). The fuel efficiency of Malaysian HR-V’s Turbo variant is nearly 15 km/l. We will have to wait and see what fuel efficiency HR-V offers on Pakistani roads.

There is hardly any difference in dimensions. International HR-V has a shorter length as compared to the local one though.

In this comparison, the Pakistani HR-V is behind the international variant. It doesn’t have a rear camera, cruise control, or even Android navigation is optional. The only edge it has is the 9-inch display screen which is 1-inch larger than the international variant.

The only difference between the safety systems of cars is Honda Sensing. It is available in the international variant but not in the local HR-V.

The price of the Malaysian base variant is in RM and we have converted it to PKR as per the current exchange rate. So, the price of the International variant is approximate. But still, the difference is much.

The local HR-V’s base variant is only better in length and has a larger infotainment screen. But the international (Malaysian) HR-V’s base variant comes with a body-color front grille, Android and Apple CarPlay connectivity, rear cameras, cruise control, and Honda Sensing.
Even having all the above-mentioned features, the Malaysian HR-V (base variant) still costs less than the base variant of the local HR-V. We are in 2022 and automobile companies are still bringing cars with fewer features but higher prices as compared to their international variants. This practice must end now.
