No Road Access Without Emission Certificates in Islamabad

No Road Access Without Emission Certificates in Islamabad

The increasing traffic and smoke-emitting vehicles are one of the major reasons for the rising pollution and smog levels in Pakistan. To take the situation under control, the government of Pakistan introduced emission testing and granted certificates to those who passed the test.

There are some vehicles that were still left, even though the authorities continued giving reminders for the emission testing. Now, it is time for them to experience the consequences. Explore more in the blog.

A Strict Crackdown Against Vehicles with No Emission Certificates

The authorities have taken strict action against the vehicles that have no certificates in Islamabad. No vehicle is allowed on the roads without passing the emission test. This strict action has been taken due to the rising Air Quality Index (AQI) level in the city, which would worsen the situation.

The transport authorities are inspecting the vehicles at different checkpoints to ensure violators experience the strict penalty. The following are the results of the strict inspection so far:

  • Total Number of Vehicles Inspected: 60
  • Vehicles Fined: 23
  • No road access for the 9 vehicles that were sent to the police stations.

Considering this, if your vehicle does not have a certificate, there are chances you will experience heavy fines, legal actions, and no road access. Furthermore, if your vehicle went through the test and failed the certification, the reasons could be the old engine, bad quality fuel, lack of maintenance, etc. It is time for you to get your vehicle checked, treated, and get the emission certificate to prevent the strict actions.

To sum up, the Islamabad Transport Authorities have banned vehicles without the emission clearance certificates. This strict action aims to reduce the environmental pollution and smog in the coming months.
