Lahore Traffic Police Proposes Increase in Fines

To ensure a smooth flow of traffic in the provincial capital and discourage motorists from violating traffic rules, the City Traffic Police, Lahore, has recommended an increase in fines.

As per the recommendation of CTO Lahore, a minimum Rs.200 fine should be increased to a minimum of Rs.2000 for bikes and Rs.5000 for cars. Here are the details of the recommended increase in traffic fines for Lahoris.

  • Violation of traffic rules for the following reasons can result in a fine of Rs.2000 and Rs.5000 for bikes and cars, respectively.
  1. Wrong Parking
  2. Without license driving
  3. One Way driving
  4. Improper or no number plate
  5. Other violations
  • For cars having tinted mirrors, a fine of Rs.5000 can be charged.

These fines are not yet implemented, and only the recommendations are made to DIG Traffic.

The only way to not incur such hefty fines is to obey the traffic rules.

What do you think about the increased fines?

  2. If a doctor tell his patient not to smoke cigarettes because they are dangerous to health, while smoking cigarettes himself. How would that impact the patient. So first these rules should be practiced by the lawmakers and the law bearers. And if they are successfully able to follow all the traffic rules then please l by the fines on the public with pleasure. Rules are made to be followed not broken. But who will make sure the rules are being followed. So for this the people who are given the law in their hands need to make sure they abide by the law and then implement the law on to the public. Thanks
