
Exciting news from the automobile industry as car sales have increased by around 74% on a monthly basis. The year-on-year number is also increased by 61%. I told you last month that car sales had surged in 2024 compared to 2023, and the upward trajectory continues in 2025 as well. In this blog, I will show you the top-selling cars, yearly and monthly comparisons, and sales trends of popular car manufacturers.
Let’s start with the top-selling cars of January 2025:
Top Selling Cars in Pakistan
Suzuki Alto retains the top position, followed by Toyota’s Corolla, Corolla Cross, and Yaris. The third position belongs to the Sazgar Haval, but its sales are reported combined with the sales of December 2024, so we don’t know the actual sales figure for Jan-25. The 10 best-selling of January 2025 are as follows:

Top Selling Hatchbacks
The top-selling hatchbacks in January 2025 are the same as the previous month. Alto at the top, followed by Swift and Cultus, respectively. Yes, Suzuki still rules the hatchback category.

Top Selling Sedans
As Toyota reports, the combined sales of the Toyota Corolla, Yaris, and Corolla Cross (SUV) have topped. Honda is in 2nd place, but the difference is minor, and if Toyota’s sedan sales weren’t clubbed with its SUV sales, who knows that Honda might have beat its archrival this month? Hyundai’s sedans are way behind in terms of sales compared to the Honda & Toyota.

Month-on-Month Comparison
Sales of all car manufacturers have surged significantly on a monthly basis. Notably, 1,015 more units of Honda Civic & City were sold in Jan-25 compared to Dec-24, even surpassing the Alto’s increase of 924 units. Only Hyundai’s Santa FE & Ported reported negative sales.



Year-on-Year Comparison
In the yearly comparison, most of the cars have reported a huge increase, especially Suzuki, Honda, and Haval (clubbed sales of two months), which are the most noticeable manufacturers in terms of sales increase. The following table will show you the year-on-year numbers:

Final Verdict
All-in-all, the automobile industry has had a great start to the new year, with most manufacturers reporting a significant monthly and yearly increase in sales. However, it is too early to say anything, as we will have to wait and see if the trend remains upward in the coming months of face decline.
