During a hearing on a citizen’s plea recently, the Lahore High Court ordered to seize vehicles that are wrongly parked in the provincial capital (Lahore). They want to make sure people follow parking rules to ease traffic flow and keep things organized.
To make sure people take traffic rules seriously, the court decided to increase fines for traffic violations. They hope that heavier fines will discourage people from breaking traffic rules.
In terms of road safety, they emphasized the importance of wearing helmets while riding motorcycles. So, the traffic police will continue their crackdown on motorcyclists who don’t follow this safety measure.
Furthermore, the court addressed the issue of accumulated rainwater in the CBD Underpass and summoned its legal team to find a solution.
Also, they instructed the authorities to seal restaurants that operate without proper parking facilities. This move aims to address the issue of traffic congestion caused by vehicles parked haphazardly.
Lastly, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has been directed to take action against illegal parking in the city, including on service lanes.
What are your thoughts on these developments? Will they help reduce the traffic issues in the provincial capital? Tell us in the comment section below.
