On December 9, 2022, Packages Mall took an empowering initiative and signed an MoU with Embrace. Under this MoU, a sanitary napkin vending machine, called “GoVend”, will be installed at the mall. To make them more accessible, these machines will be installed in female washrooms on the first and second floors.
Packages Mall is the first mall of Pakistan to have signed an MoU of this nature. The idea behind this initiative is to provide hassle free access to sanitary napkins to women who are visiting the mall. It is also a step towards empowering women and making them feel comfortable.
With this exemplary partnership, Packages Mall is creating awareness and is playing an essential role in diverting the conversation from “shame” to “share”. This will also help them pave the way for various other organizations to take similar steps. Embrace is already planning to place such vending machines all across Pakistan to provide easy access to one of the most essential needs of Pakistan’s 50 percent of population.
