LDA New Property Transfer and Other Fees: An Easy To Understand Guide

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has increased the property transfer fee. LDA, a self-sustainable organization has rationalized this increase by claiming that it had not increased its fees, fines and penalties in the last eight years and to stay self-sustainable, it has to raise more revenue. 

The Authority claims that the revenue generated from revised/increased property transfer fee will go towards the development of infrastructure in Lahore and infrastructure development of the LDA City Housing Scheme. This move has been criticized by many, reminding that the construction industry is already reeling from inflation and that this would further bring bad news for the sector.

Residential and Commercial Property Transfer Fee

These are the new rates:

Residential	Rs7,000 per marla + Rs5 per sq ft on constructed structure	1% of the DC (district collector rates) value of the property
Commercial	Rs14,000	1% of the DC (district collector rates) value of the property
Gift Transfer (LDA City Housing project)	Rs7,000 per marla + Rs5 per sq ft on constructed property	Rs10,000 per marla
Legal Heirs Transfer Fee	Free	25% of the applicable transfer fees

Placement of Document Fee

Old	New
Rs500 per marla	0.25pc of the DC value of the property

Copying Fee

Old	New
Rs200 per page	Rs1,000 per page

Permission to Mortgage Fee

Old	New
Rs500 per marla + Rs5 per sq ft on constructed area	0.25pc of the DC value of the property

No Objection Certificate (NOC) Fee

Old	New
Rs500 per marla	0.25pc of the DC value of the property per annum

Publication of General Power of Attorney Fee

Old	New
Rs1,000 per marla	Rs2,000 per marla

Possession and File Checking Fee

Possession	Free	0.25pc of the DC value of the property

Building Plan Approval Fee

The following fees and penalties have been increased up to 4 times:
