BYD Officially Enters Pakistan & Unveils Three Cars

BYD, the electric vehicle giant that outpaced Tesla in sales during the third quarter of last year, has now arrived in Pakistan. Established in 1995 and with a presence in over 70 countries, BYD has unveiled three cars (2 electric & 1 PHEV) in Pakistan. In collaboration with Mega Motors, the company is also set to build a local manufacturing plant. Intrigued by this groundbreaking development and eager to discover the new models? BYD is trying to expand to other countries and increase its presence. There is good news for the people they officially announced that they are coming to Pakistan. In partnership with Mega Motors, the company  also announced that they are going to build a production plant in Karachi and they have decided to introduce electric vehicles product line. As per the media outlets, the company is set to begin operations from 2026.

BYD Revealed 3 Cars in Pakistan

Atto 3

BYD has officially revealed its C-segment crossover Atto 3 in Pakistan. The Chinese variant of Atto 3 comes with a 60.5 kWh Blade Battery and 480km NEDC range, features adaptive cruise control, and 18-inch alloy rims. While these specs are from the Chinese variant, we will have to wait and see what the company offers in Pakistan.

As this car is not launched in Pakistan yet, that’s why no one has any idea of the price of this car. But the international price of this car is $25,000 (~Rs.6,900,000) as per different sources). But keep in mind that it is its’ average price in China and the price of BYD cars outside China are mostly higher. So, the expected price after taxes and duties can be around 90 Lakh to 1 Crore.

SEAL

Another car that BYD revealed in Pakistan is SEAL which is known for its speed as it goes 0-100km/h in just 3.8 seconds. This sedan comes with an 82.5KWh battery providing a range of up to 570km on a single charge (as claimed by the company). It can be charged in just 26 minutes with a DC capacity of 150kW. The rotatable 15.6-inch multimedia touchscreen gives the interior a modern touch. On the top of that, BYD SEAL also comes with an all-wheel drive variant which might fascinate many.

The price of this car is $44,000 which is approximately Rs1.22 crore. However, it’s price is expected to be higher after adding taxes and duties upon its official launch here.

SEALION 6

Here is the good news for people who are worried about the range of electric cars. BYD has also revealed a plug-in hybrid SUV named SEALION 6. In China, this SUV comes with a 1.5-liter engine with 18.3kWh Battery capacity which gives you the combined range of Up to 1,092km. The 0 to 100 km/h of this car is 5.6 seconds which is still decent looking at its body type. We will have to wait for its official launch to see what specs and features the company introduces in the local variant.

The price of SEALION 8 is around $30,000 USD which roughly equals Rs.85 lakh. But its price is expected to be over 1 crore after its official launch in Pakistan.

Overall, it is great news for the people who love electric vehicles. BYD is a renowned EV brand that is compared with the likes of TESLA. Another welcoming news is that the production plant is also going to be manufactured in Pakistan. So, the future of EVs looks quite bright in Pakistan.
