Is the Price Hike Justified?

The answer is simply no. We don’t have an official reason yet. However, it is important to note that the USD to PKR rate has not changed much (~3%) since March-23 (the last price hike). However, the prices have increased by up to 33% which is unjustified.

Another thing to note is that there wasn’t any increase in the duties or taxes on automobiles in the Pakistan Budget 2023-24 that could affect the prices of Proton cars. So, we don’t have any reason that can justify this price hike.

The automobile companies are already struggling in sales and this move is most likely to decrease the sales of Proton cars in Pakistan.

With this price increase, would you still go for a brand new Saga/X70 or would you buy used Proton cars? Tell us in the comment section below.
