Capital Smart Motors reportedly to invest $125M in CKD Plant powering Pakistan’s EV Future

Capital Smart Motors (CSM), a flagship initiative by HRL Engineering and official partner of GEELY AUTO GROUP in Pakistan, is investing $125 million to establish a cutting-edge CKD assembly plant in the Smart Special Economic Zone near Lahore. The facility will produce passenger vehicles, commercial trucks, and buses with a strong emphasis on electric mobility.

CSM has recently gained national attention through immersive tech showcases and a high-profile marketing campaign, spotlighting models like the GEELY RIDDARA RD6 EV Truck and Dongfeng FORTHING Friday, offering an exceptional 1,150 km range.

Aligned with Pakistan’s EV Policy and Vision 2030, the initiative aims to accelerate clean transportation, reduce fossil fuel dependency, and position Punjab as a regional hub for advanced automotive manufacturing. CSM is also investing in nationwide EV charging infrastructure to support rapid adoption. The project is set to create thousands of jobs, drive innovation, and transform Pakistan into a rising force in the global EV industry.
