When the tax filing deadline approaches, many people start searching for the income tax slabs. Checking the new and old tax slabs is important to calculate income tax. Especially if you want to become a filer in Pakistan and don’t know anything yet, or you are filing income tax returns for 2024-25 as well as 2023-24, and so on. Here, I will show you the income tax slabs of 5 fiscal years to help you calculate how much you might have to pay.
Income Tax Slab 2025-26
The income tax slabs for salaried persons have been changed as the government has provided up to 80% relief on the income tax in the budget 2025-26. Check out the new income tax slabs 2025-26:

| Rs. 4,100,000 to Rs. 10,000,000 | Rs. 616,000 + 35% of the amount exceeding Rs. 4,100,000 |

Income Tax Slab 2024-25
These were the salary tax slabs 2024-25 in Pakistan:

Income Tax Slab 2023-24
Here are the tax slabs for the fiscal year 2023-24:

Income Tax Slab 2022-23
The following are the salary tax slabs for the year 2022-23:

| 6,000,001 to 12,000,000 | PKR 1,005,000 + 32.5% of the amount exceeding PKR 6,000,000 |
| Above 12,000,000 | PKR 2,955,000 + 35% of the amount exceeding PKR 12,000,000 |
Income Tax Slab 2021-22
Here are the old tax slabs for 2021-22 fiscal year:

| 5,000,001 to 8,000,000 | PKR 670,000 + 22.5% of the amount exceeding PKR 5,000,000 |
| Above 8,000,000 | PKR 1,345,000 + 25% of the amount exceeding PKR 8,000,000 |
Note: Keep in mind that “income” here means the taxable income.
As you have seen now, the tax rates and even slabs change over time. It means you need to be updated even if you are already a tax filer.
