10,000 Motorcyclists Fined in Lahore
The following are some of the reasons:
- Fake, tampered, or missing number plates
- Wrong parking
- Setting up illegal parking stands
- Breaching lane discipline
Traffic police impounded 1,536 motorcycles during the operation, and 10,982 motorcyclists for riding without helmets and 5,389 vehicles for one-way violations. 1,754 vehicles were fined for breaching lane discipline, out of which 245 were taken into custody.
Despite the strict traffic laws, some drivers had illegal number plates and experienced strict penalties. The officials registered cases against 16 individuals for wrong parking, setting up illegal parking stands and more.
In conclusion, the officials stated that public safety and avoiding road accidents are the topmost priorities for them, hence the strict crackdown. But besides this, the officials will continue to strictly enforce the crackdown in the rushy areas for better traffic flow.
