What started off as a three-door hatchback in Australasian and European markets, turned into the hallmark of sub-compact sedans in Pakistan. As the name suggests, Honda City is the symbol of urban maneuverability. First launched in 1997 in Pakistan, Honda City gate-crashed the Pakistani automotive market when consumers were preoccupied with popular choices such as Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic and Suzuki Margalla. The first model of Honda City known as XR8 was inspired by Honda Civic, built on a chassis similar to that of Honda Accord while its tail-lamps gave an inkling of Honda Prelude. Honda City is characterized as a perfect blend of synergy of the Honda family.
The fifth generation Honda City Aspire has made a record of highest number facelifts in automotive history of Pakistan. In 2017 alone, the car underwent two facelifts. Launched in 2009, this Honda City model outlived its competitors. For more than 10 years, no subsequent generation of Honda City was launched in Pakistan. It is speculated that in 2021, Honda Atlas Cars will release the next generation Honda City in Pakistan. The new generation Honda City will compete with Toyota Yaris and newcomers like Changan Alsvin, and the Proton Saga. However, it is not confirmed whether the next generation is the 6th or 7th generation.
The next generation Honda City comes with an astounding design upgrade, stacked up with intuitive technology. Honda City boasts a honey-comb shaped front grille and cutting-edge LED headlights. The sharp contours and perfectly sculpted lines of the car with its light-weight and high-rigidity gives a bold appearance. This power-packed car comes with R16 diamond-cut alloy wheels. Some of its other class defying characteristics include one touch electric sunroof, high-mount stop lamp and auto folding door mirror. The rear profile of the car is spruced up with combi lamps. They emit strong and eye-catching red luminescence.
Idealizing the Honda’s philosophy of “man maximum machine minimum”, ergonomic design characterizes the next generation Honda City. This car comes with a spacious cabin which provides ample legroom. The interior of the car is beige-themed with hi-grade rich leather seats. The driving seat is high-positioned which enables panoramic visibility. Honda has embodied its advanced interface in this car with the core philosophy of “easy to see and easy to use”. The controls of the car are intuitively placed, allowing one-touch access. The asymmetrical dashboard hosts a smart navigation system.
