Signs you need to upgrade your kitchen
In Pakistani households, the kitchen is the most loved room in the house. A functional and an appealing kitchen is important not only for your family but for your guests, too.
Here are four signs that your kitchen may need an upgrade:
Damage and wear is observed
Your kitchen can’t be expected to stay in new condition forever, but damage beyond normal wear and tear needs addressing. Water leakage from a fridge or dishwasher can cause mold on and underneath the flooring or peeling on the counter-tops, floors and walls, depending on the materials. Cracked, peeling or chipped counter-tops and floors are prime spots for dangerous bacteria to reside. Upgrading to newer counters made from a durable material like granite is a good investment.
Appliances are outdated
Outdated appliances are usually less attractive and drain more energy than newer models on the market. You also need to consider their safety too. Consider their safety, too. If you can afford it then it’s time to upgrade to newer and safer appliances. When you upgrade your appliances, do proper market research. Consult a professional electrician and make sure that everything is wired properly.
Limited counter space
Your kitchen counters should not be cluttered and everything should be easily accessible. If your counters are covered with appliances, utensils and food, then you need an upgrade. Larger cabinets or deeper drawers can also help reclaim your counters.
If you’re unable to sell your house
When you’re moving, then saving for your new home is the first priority. However, upgrading your current kitchen before you sell it is also an investment. Home shoppers are often attracted first towards the kitchen. So, if you’ve been having trouble selling your home and the kitchen’s not upgraded, that could be the reason. A more appealing, upgraded kitchen can be a motivating factor for buyers, hopefully resulting in less time on the market and a better selling price.
