Winter Driving Tips
Winters are almost here, and most of you have probably already started unpacking and buying winter clothes to face the winter. Along with preparing your wardrobe, you should also ready your car to face the weather. A few precautions you should take:
Fog Lights
In winter, you should always use fog lights while driving, especially if you’re driving up north. People living in the northern areas of Pakistan should always use fog lights, as bad weather and steep roads result in more accidents. Since excessive fog, and smog in some areas, is expected, it is essential to use the lights for your safety.
Road ready
Ensure that your car is road ready; check tyres, brakes, lights, wipers etc. People should switch to winter tyres for more control and stability. Winter tyres have other groves The winter tyres not only give more control to the car on snowy roads but also give stability. The winter tyres have groves called Sipes, which help the tyres get a stronger grip and maintain control.
Driving at night
It is highly recommended to avoid driving at night in winter especially if its snowing. However, if you do end up taking your car out, then its very important to maintain a fair amount of distance from other vehicles, ahead or behind you. If its snowing and the roads are slippery, then your car might not immediately stop right after hitting the brakes, so it is important to keep distance from other vehicles.
