A Guide On How To Shine At Job Interviews
Job interviews are always nerve wracking. Sometimes the pressures can make us act differently and fail to do our best. Here are some tips on how to stop your voice from shaking, slow down your answers and create a rapport with the interviewer.
Research
Make sure you do your research about the company and the position you’re applying for. A good way of doing this would be to chat with an employee there. Otherwise Google is always there to help you read up on the products & services they offer. This will this help you gain more insight into the company’s culture and daily tasks, and you’ll also stand out more from the rest by being better prepared to answer and even ask well thought out questions.
Be punctual and be prepared
Always make sure you arrive 10 to 15 minutes prior to the interview. You should also make sure you have a hard copy of your updated CV and any other relevant documentation with you to show the interviewer that you’re organized and are serious about the position you’ve applied for.
Dress to impress
First impression is the last impressions… okay not really.. but they do have a lasting impression! So make sure you’re looking good. That being said, it’s equally important to make sure you dress appropriately for the position and company you’re applying to.
Be prepared
It’s really important to make sure you have some well thought out answers when it comes to being asked some of the more commonly asked interview questions. This will show them your ability & potential to problem-solve, and help prevent any embarrassing responses. Switch off your cellphone so it doesn’t disrupt you during the interview and clear your mind of any unnecessary stress.
